My best friend an I were so galled by the sheer stupidity of the characters in the movie that we were getting shushed by the scared masses around us. Everyone was sooo scared, and we had no idea why. "Idiots," He'd say. "Sure, bad stuff's around us...SO LET'S HUDDLE IN A FRICKIN' TENT." I'd chip in with, "Yeah, why not find something solid to put at your back, sharpen some stakes, and take turns sleeping? Morons deserve to die." Or stuff to that effect. Needless to say, we weren't impressed :)

It's not like they were Conan and Subitai prepping the ruins, knowing that Thulsa Doom was coming for them...they were just a group of ignorant college kids. Cut them some slack for lacking survival skills. :D

Ya, they were dumb enough to spend significant time with that annoying girl. What do you expect from them? :)

Great choices!!

These days movies are more about the gore and body count....the art of being scary without being bloody is nearly dead......my favorite part about the older movies is how they build the suspense without showing you anything.

One movie I like that combined the two pretty successfully was the re-make of 13 ghosts.

way back in....hmmm,...1973 I think it was? My folks would not let me stay up late and watch the original 'Night of the Living Dead'.....so being the good son that I was......I cracked my bedroom door a bit and sat there by myself....in that dark bedroom...and watched the whole thing through a crack in the door......I had nightmares for months... I was five years old then.....pretty sure that movie ****ed me up for life,lol....still a big zombie fan even now.
I laugh a lot now during 'Horror" films, mostly I watch them to see the creativity.....one of my favorite scenes is from a movie...."Wrong turn 2" I think it is....... this mutated cannibal hillbilly takes his axe and splits this chick from forehead to crotch....then he grabs one foot,...his brother grabs the other foot,...and they walk away in different directions,....love that scene, creative and well done.
