Long time Phoenician!
I was thinking about my favorite MLB players' names over the years -- names which roll off the tongue and were melodic to hear.
My top three were all Hispanic, even though I'm not.
My all-time favorite is Hiram Bocachica -- pronounced Eeram (with a rolling R), who spent time with the Dodgers.
Going back in time, there was Elio Chacon of the early Mets.
And, although he was called Sandy, the next is Edmundo Isasi Amoros, who made that great catch in LF in the World Series back in the mid-fifties.
There were also names that anyone hardly knew because their nicknames were so prevalent. Edwin Donald Snider--the Duke. Carroll Lockman-- Whitey (his hair color). Harold Henry Reese--PeeWee. Albert Fred Schoendienst--Red.
Going back to names which rolled off the tongue, do you have any others?
