What are your thoughts?

I have a question, is Mark Grace on the roster helping or hurting this team? I have been a supporter of Grace being on the bench but I have to wonder if he is denying a guy like Hammock or Overbay a spot on the team?

Grace is clearly not the hitter he was. He is mired in a 4-38 slump and I wonder if he can still help this team? This is not a bashing on Mark but many people have been ripping players all year who have better numbers than Grace. Matt Williams numbers were better. Is there a double standard when it comes to Grace?

Truthfully my feelings are that right now Grace is definitely hurting the team. If all we really need him to be is a good guy in the clubhouse ... have him retire and then hire him as an assistant bench coach or something. We need people that can contribute ... right now Grace just isn't IMO.

Interesting that, referring to whether this trip to Wrigley Field would be his last as a player, he said he hasn't decided if he wants to play for one more year.

I thought that was a foregone conclusion! Maybe ol' Gracie is jockeying for position . . . and raising the stakes for staying with the organization next year.

I don't think as a player he's helping

My belief is the Dbacks probably hoped they could hide him until the roster expansion which I believe occurs soon. That is why he will not be cut or made a coach. If the Dbacks somehow make the playoffs I do not believe he will be on the playoff roster and I believe there would be several other surprise omissions.
