Oh, no debates there. Its such a departure from what I usually listen'ed' to. I took a jazz appreciation course in college (fine arts credit) and I fell in love. I don't look at music, or even life, the same after adding jazz to my life.
What school did you take that course in?

I finished a Jazz appreciation course last semester (fulfilled one of my Humanities credit) and really learned a lot more about that genre...

Do you happen to have favorite jazz period?

We learned about everything from Rag Time to mainly Fusion..... I preferred Cool Jazz and Hardbop over anyother era personally.... been listening to a lot of Miles Davis recently (especially "Kind of Blue"), but my favorite artist of all is Herbie Hancock........

As far as other music.... Elastica, Blur (obviously), Traffic, Squeeze, Living Colour, and STP.......

I must admit that Ive been somewhat out-of-touch w/the newer bands, so must begin checking the scene out again.....

I took it at the University of New Mexico. Sounds like the same type of set up. We started with the Rag Time and went to fusion. I enjoy hard bop the most. It was nice because I had a break before my class, which started at about 6pm, so I would go eat dinner with friends and have a couple beers before class. Miles Davis is my favorite. I don't listen to newer jazz really.

I actually liked her first album too and still play it from time to time. She is so hot and Canadian. ROWR!

Talk about bad music, that's like listening to cats in a dryer.

The Front and Under Neath What. Uh, huh- I know you haven't heard of either. One hit wonders from the early 1990's.
