With the Clippers acquiring center Marcin Gortat from Washington in exchange for Austin Rivers, the landscape could change on the Mavericks' quest for a center in free agency. The Clippers seem unlikely to keep both Gortat and DeAndre Jordan, who was second in the league in rebounding last season at 15.2 per game. Their fate is in Jordan's hand, and the Mavericks know all about that. If he opts in to the final season of his contract (at $24-million) he would be an easy trade chip, although the Mavericks would have to give up a significant piece that the Clippers want. If Jordan opts out, he can leave and the Clippers would receive nothing if he signs elsewhere. Either scenario could be good for
