The Alabama Crimson Tide held their annual A-Day event Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in a 90-minute practice session in front of fans and media to close the 2025 spring football practice calendar.
Quite a few things took place that had fans and reporters buzzing. For starters, wide receiver Germie Bernard connected with Miami Hurricanes transfer receiver Isaiah Horton for a long 75-yard touchdown on a double pass.
As expected, of the quarterbacks battling for Alabama's starting QB job, all three made an appearance. Redshirt junior Ty Simpson took the field first with the rest of the first-team offense. Austin Mack followed Simpson and made an appearance with Alabama's second-team offense.
Mack threw an interception when Zabien Brown picked off a deep pass. A redshirt sophomore who committed to the Washington Huskies before following Kalen DeBoer to Alabama last season, Mack threw a second interception when class of 2025 3-star linebacker Abduall Sanders picked off a pass on another series.
True freshman and 5-star quarterback Keelon Russell, ranked the No. 2 QB in the class of 2025 by 247Sports and On3, also threw an interception (to 4-star safety Ivan Taylor from the class of 2025) in Saturday's practice, per the Birmingham News' Matt Stahl.
Here's a look at what happened at Alabama's 2025 A-Day event from those who were inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

I hope somebody videoed that.
Germie Bernard just threw a double pass (not a good pass at all) into double coverage to Isaiah Horton who mossed two defenders and scored a touchdown.

Germie Bernard just threw a touchdown to Isaiah Horton on a WR pass play. The ball should have been picked off, but Horton plucked it from the air before breaking away to the end zone.

Redshirt freshman OL William Sanders is getting a lot of work today. Playing right guard with the second team O-line and playing a little TE with the first-team offense

It's April, it's only one practice and not even a scrimmage, but .... Lotzeir Brooks looks like he's going to be a problem for defenses.
He gets in and out of his breaks so fast.

Back deep to field punts: Cole Adams, Jaylen Mbakwe, Lotzeir Brook and Germie Bernard.

The final 11-on-11 play of Alabama practice was OL William Sanders lining up in the slot and having a pass thrown to him. Contact was early and DPI flag was thrown.
