Minski
Hall of Famer
My only knock on JMS is that he's 24 already, if Wypler can be better than JMS within 3 years then its the better choice.
I doubt it.
This was the question of what I'd love to see, not what I think will happen! It very likely wouldn’t be 52. 37 and 83 would be equivalent value to 33.
If we could land one of those two in a trade down I’d be stoked.fwiw: ESPN has Tippman/ Wisc as their top rated center, maybe 10 spots higher than JM Schmitz
No. Injury prone and too many miles on the odometer. He would be good for a contender.Should we trade with Lions for Swift instead of drafting a mid or late round RB to compliment Conner? Swift is available for sure.
One year on his rookie contract left. Then dump him.No. Injury prone and too many miles on the odometer. He would be good for a contender.

in the long run both Tippmann and wypler will be better... the difference is that schmitz is a fifth year senior and will be playing his rookie season at 24 years old... while the other 2 will be 21 or 22.... that physical development is usually what takes the big guys time to develop..so schmittz is like getting a 2 year vet at the positionfwiw: ESPN has Tippman/ Wisc as their top rated center, maybe 10 spots higher than JM Schmitz
Harry, that's my #1 hope. If we can't find a trade partner, and Porter is gone, I'm hoping for a center.Steelers take Porter. Cards trade with QB hungry team.
From what we have known the Cardinals really like Wyplerin the long run both Tippmann and wypler will be better... the difference is that schmitz is a fifth year senior and will be playing his rookie season at 24 years old... while the other 2 will be 21 or 22.... that physical development is usually what takes the big guys time to develop..so schmittz is like getting a 2 year vet at the position
Section11, great job by you. Every year I'm hoping that someone will give out Grades (# correct) on how the various experts did in forecasting the 1st round. I'll still give Mel Kiper props for helping make the Draft what it is today.Mel Kiper got one pick correct in the first round. Well done Mel, take the rest of the week off.
He is my least favorite. Perhaps the cards convinced themselves to love him because he is the one most likely to be on the board in round 3From what we have known the Cardinals really like Wypler
when I think about & watch Wypler I think he’s AQ Shipley part 2. UghHe is my least favorite. Perhaps the cards convinced themselves to love him because he is the one most likely to be on the board in round 3
he always hurt thats my only gripe with himShould we trade with Lions for Swift instead of drafting a mid or late round RB to compliment Conner? Swift is available for sure.
Benton would be fine by me.FWIW - ESPN has a rd 2 mock up and has Porter going #32, us taking Benton at #33, and Schmitz lasting all the way until #57.
Benton is solid. Definitely wouldn’t hate the pick, but wouldn’t be my choice at 33.
He's probably my top player for the Cardinals right now because he can fit in an even or odd front. How about DE Keion White, Georgia Tech 6-6 285lb.with our second round pick? Good player, fills a big need at DE for the Cards. Most projected him in 2nd round.
Or you could take LaPorta, Musgrave or Kraft by either trading up from 3 or taking whichever is remaining.it would be an interesting move to take Mayer -- you would line up in 12 personnel lots with Mayer and McBride being kinda old school TEs who block first but also catch
Agree. This tight end class is too deep to burn our 2nd on IMO.Or you could take LaPorta, Musgrave or Kraft by either trading up from 3 or taking whichever is remaining.
Jack of all tradesI'm hoping for Cody Mauch. He can play every position on the Oline and is tough and mean.
Not on the Oline IIRC. With all the injuries that happen on Olines have a solid to good player who can fill in at multiple spots is more positive than negative IMO.Jack of all trades
Master of none
Cards been drafting versatile guys like that for years.
It is a good thing to have....as a backup. Not on the Oline IIRC. With all the injuries that happen on Olines have a solid to good player who can fill in at multiple spots is more positive than negative IMO.
