Could you see this lineup; D’Brick Ldavis Leckey Brown Backus? Here's what I wonder - what would Stve Huntchenson cost and could LDavis be restuctured to a similar number. If so and Green had a reason (D’Brick fell to us) to get his ego out of his --- and move Davis to Guard he would be all Pro.

RT:D.Ferguson
RG:E.Brown
C : ?
LG: Hutchinson
LT: Davis

Next stop Superbowl 41!

You could have a tea party behind that line and never be touched. Regardless of the center position.

Not gonna happen but it is a nice thought.

I would be for the pick. We could have the nickname for our offensive line, the Red Brick Wall. (OK stop laughing, and I'll stop fantasizing).

Fantasizing

LT- Furgeson
LG- Hutchinson
C- Bentley
RG- Ross/Brown
RT- BIG

With this lineup the continuity issue won't be much of an issue since almost every single position has been upgraded with very talented players (RG the only exception).

That would be nice wouldn't ?

Now that is a lineup. I would say that Elton Brown could beat out Ross in a heartbeat. I think Elton is going to be pretty good, I really want to see if this new coach can help him take it to the next level.

I think that line could be as good as Seattle's. Add to that mix JJ and whomever we draft or sign in free agency, and we'd have a nice, nice, nice O going!

Well since we were fantisizing I went for the gusto. Even if we just get Hutchinson or Bentley and draft Ferguson I will be thrilled. At that point our offense will be almost unstoppable and TOP will automatically help the D. Factor in that we should typically be playing with a lead then our lack of run defense won't be a big issue in most games.

I would love to see PC's schemes with a lead and the blitz packages he would come with.

Even if JJ or Shipp aren't that good they will look very good behind this kind of Oline.

These are the reasons I keep harping none stop about fixing the Oline this offseason.

Yeah... remember all those Pro Bowls he went to when he was playing guard? I mean... there must have been... like... zero of them.

The idea that Leonard Davis would be a Pro Bowl guard if moved inside is totally baseless. It was sold you y'all by Dave MacGinnis, and he was never right about anything.

I think it's tough considering that he has the NFC's best LTs ahead of him in his division, but I do think that LD has Pro Bowl-caliber talent. I just don't think that moving him to guard makes it a fait accompli, which people (Jeff, Mitch, etc.) seem to whole-heartedly buy into.

Ross and Davis are both better suited at guards. It it just obvious that their strength and skills are more suited to dealing with DT's than faster ends. Also, Ferguson is a pipe dream at 10, not a chance in hell it happens. Prototypical LT's don't last, especially one as good as him.

No actually it was reinforced by an Ex Cardinal I had dinner with last night. He and his counterparts that have to play against LD all believe that with less space and given his experience he would be a pro bowl Guard.

A second or 3rd alternate to be exact. Not even a first alternate. SO once again he isnt a pro-bowler n never will be.

Last time I checked a probowl alt is a probowl something. And that's better than alot of tackles in the NFC.

Actually its still a pro-bowl nothing. Heck the mere fact that they list alternates as far down as three deep is just plain silly. The bottom line is hes not a pro-bowler. The only way he will ever be is if two guys get hurt. Even then its window dressing as far as Im concerned. If by the grace of god he made it to the PB one year they arent going to say this is LD's 2nd pro-bowl because he was an alternate one year.

The point isn't whether he is a 'pro bowler'. It's whether he is a 'pro bowl anything', remember? And a pro bowl alt is something.

You should add.....in my opinion......because there are many, many, who would disagree with you.....none more than the coaching staff.

So I was 100% right when I said he was a top 5-7 LT? Wow, how many threads did we drag out over this? Do we need to do it again, or will you just admit he is one of the league's best tackles like I have said forever?

Actually you stated he was a top 2-3 T in the NFL. I can still pick out more than 10 T I would rather have. So no we wont agree.
