What Kind of Contract Should We Offer Levi?

I would like to see the Cards re-sign Brown and move him to RT. No way do I want Levi playing LT for the Cards again.

One of the worst LT's in the NFL...if not the worst.

We were 16th in pass attempts and 2nd in sacks given up. Levi may be a nice guy but he sucks as a LT. Might not be his fault...maybe the coaching staff has him in the wrong position but I don't see enough from him to warrant a contract next year unless its on the cheap and he changes positions.

I still can't believe we didn't claim Jared Gaither.

My solution to the oline this offseason.

Jared Gaither, Max Starks, and David Decastro (draft). You can have all three for less than we are paying Levi.

Maybe part of the problem is Grimm is playing catch with Fitz during practice like they always show him doing in the pregame warmups. You'd think he might be more focused on getting the Oline ready for the game instead. I dunno, maybe that's just me.

At his season-ending press conference Monday, Cardinals coach Ken Whisehunt praised LT Levi Brown for a strong finish to the year.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic now believes "it's possible" Brown is brought back for a sixth season with the Cardinals. He'd still almost certainly have to take a pay cut. Brown is due $8.3 million in 2012, and even after the solid 2011 finish his body of work is in no way worthy of that kind of money.

Right on CardFan. Brown is the worst starting LT in the league. And yes, the Cards should have claimed Gaither.

The Cards definitely need to pick up a free agent tackle. Either Bell, Gaither, or Starks would be an upgrade at LT. I would like to see Brown re-signed to play RT but I think that some team with tons of money will overpay and then stick him at RT or G themselves.

If the top three tackles in the draft are gone when the Cards pick, I agree that they should select DeCastro.

As expected, some of the usual irrational, misinformed posters want to be rid of Levi for nothing or to keep Bridges or Keith. Levi is noticeably better than both of them, is a good person and above all, is supremely durable. Hopefully we will offer him something because the sad truth is there isn't much better out there. Ideally, we will find a LT out there this offseason and Levi can return to the right side where he is average at best as a pass blocker but great in the run game.

I'd certainly like to keep Bridges, as he is a good spot-starter. Keith may be a depth keeper, but only that, and only if we don't draft a developmental tackle. Levi? He is awful--simply awful. He clearly missed several key assignments--again--this last game, at least one of which got the QB clobbered, and he had yet another false start. He's just not that good, and is certainly one of the worst, if not the worst, starting LT in the league. Maybe a position change would do him good, but I do NOT want him starting at LT for us at any price. Nice and durable are great adjectives, but they don't make a great football player.

If the Cards re-do Levi's contract & bring him back it just proves Rod Graves & Cards management doesn't know jack squat!!!

Levi is Leonard Davis Part II. So let's just continue to play out that trend. He will not be brought back at a price that we are comfortable with. He will go to some larger market and make the shift to a different spot on the line. From there, he will excel, and probably get voted to the Pro Bowl a couple of years.

We will reach for an OT in the draft, slap #75 on him, and go "uh oh" when he gets his first false start penalty in the first series of the first game.
