we are a pass first team, at least we should be. i don't like when whiz is playing at this slow tempo running draws and handoffs...we are best when we are in a hurry up and making quick passes or taking an occasional shot down field..i hope next week is different.

also i wish wells would get 80% of the carries, i've never really cared all that much for TH

I agree with you...

We need to pick up the tempo. Slam Wells down their throat. Use TH as 3rd down back(he is good in that role)

Also, our passing game is struggling. Now is the time to focus on the run and become a balanced team.

Wells and HT both in the same backfield would give them something to think about...

I agree with you to a point. Yes, we play better in a no huddle, quick to the line tempo.

But we need to run the ball every once and a while, and if you look at the stats we didn't run much at all last game.

Not to mention we are, in fact, a pass first team, and regardless of the tempo our passing offense put up a EPIC fail last game. Inaccurate throws, dropped passes, and poor protection is not Whiz's fault.

I don't feel that we commit to the run yet--most of the time it just looks like it's a formality to keep the defense honest. We end up with a lot of draw plays and dancing in the backfield. But Warner's slow hand-offs may be a factor as well.

We need to get to the point where on any given play, we can legitmately threaten to extend the possession with a run, play out of the backfield, or downfield pass. Scrambling ability would be nice, too, but beggars can't be choosers.

If the offensive line play doesn't improve there won't be anything the Cards can do on offense except what they've been running.

BTW: How does the "no huddle" help when the team is not in a "hurry up" mode. The Cards run a no huddle but they sure don't seem to be in any hurry to get a play underway.

The defense isn't static they are moving all the time up until the ball is snapped so how can it give Warner more time to "read" the defense. Is there some sort of advantage in that the D has a harder time with subs for their different schemes or down and distance situations? Maybe the Cards just operate better off audibles than plays called in the huddle.

Agree with you completely, Duckjake.. In the no huddle we walked around and took our sweet*** time!! Turrible! Jacksonville will kill KW if we mess around like that again this week..

I agree with most, also we have to quit putting ourself in the hole with stupid penalties, it is next to impossible to continue drives. If we continue on the pace set in game one, it does not bode well.

How many draws did the team actually run last week? I only remember one off the top of my head.

The team is built to pass, yes but some teams will figure out how to shut that down.
Worse still, their job is easier when the Cards are always in shotgun.

They can pass to get the lead, and rush to keep it, but they need to find a formation that plays to both strengths and that's not the shotgun.

For this team, it may be something wacky, like a 2 RB/ 3 WR set. Last season Sando did a breakdown and found that to be this team's most successful formation.
