Is that they cleared so much capspace but a couple of month before they traded a pretty good expiring contract for Jahidi White.

This tells me that Colangelo has no real plan what to do and panicked.

Had he not traded for White we would easily look at 10M$+ to offer in free agency and on top of that we can easily use our MLE's in the near future.

You are very right. The white deal looks good, but it is pretty obvious that either that one or this one was rash.

My idea of how it went down:

Isiah: Hey BC, I want Marbury

BC: OH REALLY NOW! Well (laughing) take hardaway, give me 2 picks, some rights to players, and ALL of your expiring deals

Isiah: Done

BC: Well Damn, let me call Jerry

Jahadi is still a canidate to be taken in the expansion draft. They may try to trade him now, with a pick.

The suns apparently said they are looking to move more players.

That's a good point.

What really bugs me about the trade is who is going to score for the Suns now? Without Marbury we average about 70 ppg and we still don't have Amare & Zarko back.

Yeah, I really, really hate the Jahidi White trade now. They will probably end up giving away a 1st round pick to get rid of him and clear cap space, something they already had with Brevin Knight.

Very frustrating.

but another point guard with knight after this trade.

i don't think they will ship him.
they need high picks to draft 2 for 1 to get the man they want.

Also, the Suns are starting to look more and more like the Utah Jazz. They'll have Marion (Harpring) & Amare (Kirlenko) and role players around them. The main difference is that Sloan is a proven coach.

My guess is the Suns will try to move one of the draft picks...first round picks are guaranteed money and this team needs to drop salary at this point

Well I would take Marion and Amare over Harpring and Kirilenko any day. Not only for their abilities right now, but for their potential as well.

Also, D'Antoni is not an unproven coach. He is in the NBA, but from what I have read he is very well reguarded in Europe.

The NBA is not the only place you can prove yourself.

The NBA may not be the only place you can prove yourself, but it IS where he is coaching right now. The european game is very different from the NBA.

You are right.

However, I still think that a good coach can coach in either situation.
