Clemson basketball starts another NCAA Tournament run with Thursday's first-round game against upset-minded McNeese in Providence, Rhode Island.
The Tigers (27-6) return two major contributors from last year's March Madness run to the Elite Eight in Chase Hunter and Ian Schieffelin. Both will need to be at their best for a similar run this month.
McNeese (27-6) won the Southland Conference regular-season and tournament titles featuring the ball-pressure style that coach Will Wade, a Clemson alum, has featured throughout his career.
The two teams will know who their second-round opponent will be when the game tips off, with 4-seed Purdue and 13-seed High Point leading off Thursday in Providence.
Clemson vs. McNeese will broadcast nationally on truTV. Andrew Catalon and Steve Lappas will call the game from the Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence, with Evan Washburn reporting from the sidelines. Streaming options for the game include FUBO, which offers a free trial to new subscribers.
Via BetMGM as of Thursday morning
Greenville News reporter Derrian Carter's prediction: Clemson 74, McNeese State 67
The Tigers will advance to the second round of March Madness behind a strong defensive outing. After suffering a tough loss to Louisville, Clemson will come out motivated to limit the Cowboys. Clemson's Chase Hunter will score 20 points, too, to propel the Tigers.
In Wichita, Kansas (Thursday)
In Providence (Thursday)
In Milwaukee (Friday)
In Lexington, Ky. (Thursday)
