My wife has the complete Friends series. I have The Simpsons seasons 1-13. Then we have assorted seasons of Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, and 24.

Monk, Psych, 24, Sherlock (BBC), MacGyver, A-Team, Firefly, The Big Bang Theory, Futurama (in a collectible Bender holder), and likely a few others.

Plenty of other series Breaking Bad, Longmire, Hell on Wheels, Fringe, etc, and (a lot of BBC shows like Misfits, Luther, Skins, The Inbetweeners, The IT Crowd, etc. on external drives. :D

Is this a question of the full series in one box set, or multiple box sets of a complete series? I have a few of the single box sets and a bunch of complete series in multiple sets.

Full Series Box Sets (all seasons in one package):
Lost Blu-Ray (Pyramid set)
Firefly Blu and DVD
Six Feet Under
Masters of the Universe (more recent show, not the classic)
Birds of Prey
The Critic
Dilbert
Adventures of Brisco County
V (classic series)
Battlestar Galactica (but to be fair, this is probably a Chinese bootleg that I was swindled for)
Sports Night
Night Stalker
Lateline
Action
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
Planet Earth
Earth 2
Tru Calling
Moonlight
Harsh Realm
The Lone Gunmen
Space: Above and Beyond
Invasion
The Office (BBC)

Full Series / Multiple Box Sets
Chuck
Lost
Sopranos
Deadwood
Rome
Carnivale
X-Files
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
MASH
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Friends
Cheers
Gilligan's Island
Dollhouse
Rescue Me
Battlestar Galactica
Pushing Daisies
Terminator: THe Sarah Connor Chronicles
The 4400
Veronica Mars
Extras
Millenium
The Dukes of Hazzard
The A-Team
Flintstones
Masters of the Universe (80s)
Transformers (80s)

If we are also putting down series that aren't over, then I have a much bigger list--I have a ton of series that are not complete that are still producing episodes (like Game of Thrones).

I've stopped buying DVDs and Blu Rays. There was a time when I bought just about every title (TV or movies) that even remotely interested either my wife or me. We simply ran out of room in the house. We've been giving them away for almost 2 years now and we still have more than your typical sane family would buy.

We just sold a lot of our DVD's at a yard sale last week. We kept the TV series' and movie series' we like(Star Wars IV-VI, Indiana Jones, the Complete Three Stooges, etc).

It started with us buying VHS tapes for every movie we (adults and children) liked, then (over time) we replaced them all with DVDs. When BluRay came out we decided that we'd only uprev to films/TV shows that "took advantage" of the new format (ie. special effect extravaganzas). Now we only buy BluRay copies of things we really like, and we rely upon NetFlix and RedBox to fill the void.

We made the same promise although I'll admit we crossed that line more than a few times. Usually it was just because the DVD we were replacing wasn't Anamorphic but we also replaced about a hundred of our favorite movies from HD DVD. We have now stopped buying Blu Ray altogether except for a couple of 3D titles in the past 2 years or so. We rely on Hulu Plus, Netflix and Amazon Prime for all our viewing. In fact, I still have a Sony MegaChanger in our home theater containing 400 of our favorite Blu Rays and we haven't even turned it on in more than 16 months.

We still have a couple of 5 disc players in our setup and we use them to cycle through our Looney Tunes/Disney/Hanna-Barbera collections and that's about the only disc viewing we do. For some reason, the classic cartoons look like they will be the last thing to show up for streaming. Makes me think I shouldn't have given away my Ranma 1/2 collection (complete with OAV's), you never know when nostalgia will strike and that series doesn't appear to be available anywhere.

It's the difference between a buyer and a collector.

That was my problem, I became a collector but the process consumed me. It may not technically be considered an addiction but I was surely addicted. Between DVD's and CD's I made Ken Crane's, Digital Eyes and eventually Amazon very happy. At my worst, I budgeted a thousand dollars a month for my habit and I frequently went over it.

That was me before I met my wife. The past few months have been the first time in a long time I've had more than one or two purchases. And Black Friday is coming. Arrgh.
