What will a victory next week over Seattle mean?

Say we beat SEA 24 - 14 in the '08 finale.

The defense bows up a little. Warner looks sharp. The play calling is better.

I think that's probably what will happen. But will completing the sweep of a bad division make this season better than last? Will it gives any legitimacy?

I think if the Cards win it would be huge..It would not erase the debacles at Philly, vs. Vikes and in NE but a loss would be a complete embarrasement..they should really hold nothing back..they NEED to finish at 9-7 and with a liitle confidence going into the playoff game. THIS IS A MUST WIN in my opinion.

It'll mean we finish with a 9-7 record. Only the second winning record in Arizona. It's huge to ME, but I'm not sure what the team thinks about it.

They not only need to win but they need to blowout Seattle and look very sharp doing it! I will not be happy with anything but a complete domination of the Seahawks after losing four of the last 5 and losing UGLY in most of them!

a win will be huge for the cards. especially if they can get a run game established with james.

Probably the same way you do.

A winning season is a big deal for the franchise and the players. Motivation. A reason to actually play.

So we'll see next Sunday if the team has been on cruise control or if they just plain stink.

to me it will mean a nice sunday and that's it. it will not be a sign of things to come b/c we can beat bad teams and then immediately turn around and get shellacked by the good teams, even at home as the minny game proved. anyone who thinks it will impact the playoff game is grasping at straws to have some hope for what will be an embarrassment on a national stage (yet again) the following week.

:yeahthat:
It won't really mean anything except for a perfect divisional record in a weak division and we'll be lucky if the WC round isn't a blow out loss for the Cardinals. Teams have adjusted to the way the Cardinals are playing and sadly the Cardinals haven't found an answer to this adjustment. :(

That they can beat up weaker injury riddled teams but can't win against real teams. I am no longer impressed with this teams victories until they beat someone with a winning record.

Miami and Dallas? That was before the teams adjusted tho.

and they've been proven sufficiently flawed. also, we are nowhere near the team today that we were at that time. i don't think you look at the entire body of work . . . . coaches certainly don't. you look at 4 game stretches to determine who you are today. and this 4 game stretch states unequivocably that we reside in the neighborhood of the dregs of the league.

Ouchie, that is a GREAT way to put it. This last quarter of the season has been a disgrace.

I think this is going to be a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hard game for the Cardinals.

But what would a win mean ???? It would mean the Cardinals would win a game at home, and I will be in AZ to see it.

Plus they will finish 9-7, and have a winning record. Plus that will mean they swept the entire division. Regardless of the situation, both of those things are hard to do in this league.

No they were not. You are thinking of the beginning of the season.

At the time we were playing Dallas many people were down on them because their D was sucking it up. Wade Phillips rumors of him being fired, rumors of Wade Phillips taking away the DC's job and doing it himself (which did end up happening the week after our game). Media was highly questioning that Dallas team and if they had anything.
