TOP AVAILABLE TRANSFER CLOSE TO MAKING A DECISION

As expected, the market for David Bailey once he entered the portal has been very hot. Currently ranked in the top 50 of the transfer rankings, Bailey has already taken visits to Texas Tech, Texas and UCLA.

Multiple teams continue to jockey for position in his recruitment and it will be interesting to see how long he lets the process go on. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him stay closer to home in California but programs as far East as Ole Miss have shown interest in him.

STANFORD LOSES RISING STAR RECEIVER

Despite an injury limiting his availability, Emmett Mosley was one of the bright spots for Stanford's offense last season. The freshman from Southern California finished the 2024 campaign with more than 500 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

With the program in transition after the firing of Troy Taylor as head coach, Mosley decided to enter the portal on Thursday. His recruitment will be an interesting one to watch. His parents went to Notre Dame and his brother Trent Mosley just committed to USC in the 2026 class.

SOUTH CAROLINA PASS RUSHER HEADING TO THE PORTAL

South Carolina has a bevy of outstanding pass rushers on its roster so it's not a complete shock to see the Gamecocks lose one to the transfer portal.

Wendell Gregory, who was a Rivals250 prospect in the 2024 class, committed to South Carolina 11 months before signing with Shane Beamer's squad in December of 2023. The Georgia native played in just two games as a freshman and has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

NEARLY CLEAN SLATE FOR USC'S RUNNING BACK ROOM

Four running backs recorded a rushing attempt for USC last season but only one of them (Bryan Jackson) is expected to be on the roster this fall. It would have been two but this week A'Marion Peterson announced he would be entering the transfer portal when it opens on April 16.

Peterson was a four-star prospect out of Texas in the 2023 recruiting class but his impact on the field for USC was limited. In his time with the Trojans, Peterson was credited with 18 carries for 79 yards and one touchdown in 11 games over two seasons.
