Five key matchups I’ll be watching this Sunday when the Cards take the pitch against the Rams:

Tavon Austin, WR, #11 vs Karlos Dansby, ILB, #54 - If the Rams are smart, they’ll do everything possible to get Austin in the backfield and matched up with Dansby. Austin has more career TDs from the tailback position than split out. Dansby needs to bounce back from a challenging game against the Bucs.

Michael Brockers, NT, #90 vs A.Q. Shipley, OC - Seven Rams have 2 or more sacks through this week, including Brockers. Wade Phillips loves to bring pressure, and there may be too many bodies for the Cards’ offensive line to cover at once, particularly if Shipley gets overwhelmed at the point of attack.

Connor Barwin, OLB, #98 vs Jared Veldheer, RT, #68 - Look for Troy Niklas to get an increased workload and the Cards to use a lot of 2 TE sets in passing situations. Potentially a pinch technique on the inside can clog the middle of the field and give both Veldheer and Humphries the help they need on the outside.

Cooper Kupp, WR, #18 vs Tyrann Mathieu, DB, #32 - The Honey Badger hasn’t returned as promised, but he has been an effective, above-average slot cornerback. That skill could be all that’s needed to take away Kupp, who has increasingly become Jared Goff’s security blanket.

Rob Havenstein, OT, #79 vs Hasson Reddick, OLB, #43 - Reddick couldn’t do anything against a terrible offensive tackle last week. This week he has another chance, as Havenstein allowed 9 sacks in 2016 and 1 sack this year.

Prediction: L.A. Rams of London 31, Arizona Cardinals 17

Not sure how you can say "who has increasingly become Jared Goff’s security blanket." When he is averaging about 3 catches per game and his last two games are 3 and 2 catches logged... Doesn't sound like he's providing a whole lot of security... Other then that great write up..

Kupp has 8 targets against Seattle and 4 targets against Jacksonville (when Goff only attempted 21 passes).

Kupp is second or third on the team in targets. Way more than Austin, for example.

I don't understand enough to know what Reddick is supposed to be doing or not supposed to be doing. But whatever he is supposed to do, I want him to do it.

Didn't he take Cooper's spot as OLB?
