With Huff, Ross, Okeafor, Warner and Griffith. the Cards have added both starters and depth as well as ST guys. As a whole, it looks like a very smart collection of guys. So, now we get to debate what happens next. We havwe the Boldin contract issue, a gaping hole at CB and some questions on the interior D line. I think that we will end up with Hovan on a 2 year contract, Kelly Herndon on a 4 year contract and Boldin is going to have to wait till next year. It sure would be nice if we could also re-sign Hill and trade for James, Alexander or Henry, but all that is unrealistic when it comes to the cap. Of course, if the Cards are able to trade Thompson, Clement and Shelton for picks or lesser paid players, then more action is possible....

I think we should resign Hill and draft a corner in the draft to compete with him and trade for Travis Henry. I agree with signing Hovan and having a rotation of him and Russell Davis.

We've got holes at CB, RB, TE and NT.

Hovan is visiting the Giants today or tomorrow, so you can't consider him a lock (if in fact Dennis wants him). The Hill situation reminds me of the days when we'd talk ourselves into believing we could get by on the offensive line with James Dexter, Joe Wolf and Matt Joyce. Hill is too often a step late to the receiver or the ball, and I don't think this is fixable with teaching and experience.

Ideally we'd solve either CB or RB in free agency so that we could use #8 to fill the position we couldn't fill in free agency.

(Note - This isn't the way Dennis says he likes to draft, but we're fortunate this year to find Top 8 prospects at both positions).

Note - We can probably get by with the RB's and TE's we've got, but we're decimated at corner and painfully thin at NT (unless Wendell B has demonstrated in the off-season that he finally means business).

if we try to get by with the rb's we have we'll suck again this year. plain and simple.
