Sticking with a roster of older players, going through the entire year as the #1 seed and then losing in the first round.

The reward: humiliation and drafting 29th.

I was feeling blue this morning, but a quick trip on over to SpursTalk.com had me smiling in no time...

What is worse, is having large unmovable contracts.

At least they made the playoffs.

There's NOTHING worse than not making the playoffs in a game in which EIGHT teams from each conference make it.

Well, worse would be losing a team completely, like the situation Sacramento is facing.

Well being number 1 in the regular season means at least you did something right. Losing in the first round is embarrasing and hopefully will lead to some changes. Defense is important and Bonner is not that great in the playoffs. As for the draft it's more also about being smart. The Spurs picked up Parker, Manu, Hill, Blair, Splitter late in the first or in the secound round. It's the only way to compete with the big market teams I think. You have to be smarter since you will never attract any big name free agents or pull of unbalanced trades.

OK, I get it. Instead of taking a little time out to enjoy the demise of one of the Suns most hated rivals, you all would prefer to wallow in Suns misery. Have fun, enjoy yourselves.

Good grief, give it a rest for a little while. You can always go back to wallowing in it all at draft time. I am sure there will be plenty to be miserable about then.

Your Spurs have been consistently spectacular with their drafting. Even Splitter isn't that bad, despite all the flack Elindholm gives you. Heck, if we'd drafted him he'd be a shining star compared to the guys we have drafted.
