BALTIMORE - In the ninth inning of the opener of the final series before the All-Star break, Joey Gallo lined a ball to medium depth right field, watched Baltimore’s perfectly-positioned Jonathan Schoop snag it, hung his head and turned back to the Rangers dugout. On the way back, he crossed in front of the Orioles’ first baseman Chris Davis, who has the lowest batting average in baseball and, like Gallo, is a left-handed power hitter struggling to figure out extreme shifts. “Well, that’s why we are hitting .200,” Gallo cracked and Davis had to stifle a laugh.
