Following the NFL's free agency frenzy, where do the Indianapolis Colts now rank in ESPN's very early power rankings?

After a 2024 offseason where the extent of the Colts' outside additions in free agency included Joe Flacco and Raekwon Davis--two players who are no longer on the team--we saw GM Chris Ballard take some big swings this year.

On the first day of the NFL's legal tampering period, the Colts would provide the secondary with a jolt by signing Charvarius Ward and Cam Bynum. Ballard also added competition at quarterback by bringing in Daniel Jones.

However, some added unknowns emerged on the roster as well. Dayo Odeyingbo--the Colts' leading pressure-getter in 2024--is now in Chicago, and Will Fries signed with Minnesota, which creates some questions around the Colts' offensive line depth.

So, with that in mind, where do the Colts now fall in ESPN's power rankings?

Well, the Colts entered free agency ranked 23r,d and they still remain there, even after some big additions. Admittedly, it's not easy to gauge how much better or worse a team got this time of the year. The biggest jumps in these power rankings from ESPN were teams either moving up 2-3 spots or down 2-3 spots.

There have been plenty of instances where under-the-radar moves in the offseason end up paying off big--just look at the 2024 Philadelphia Eagles--and plenty of instances where splash signings don't pay off.

We won't know which category the Colts fall into until the season actually begins.
