The LIV Golf players in the 2025 Masters Tournament had mixed results during the first two rounds at Augusta National Golf Club.
In all, seven out of 12 made the cut and will be playing this weekend. The cut line floated a few times Friday, but landed at 2-over par, meaning anyone at that score or better would be playing on.
Here’s how the LIV players fared during the first 36 holes of the Masters.
69-68 (-7)
Dechambeau made headlines when he spent hours in the practice area, even after the sun had set, following his Thursday round.
“Yeah, it was just my iron play, trying to get my stock draw in there,” he said. “Felt like I was leaving the face open a little bit. So worked on some sequencing stuff, some face angle stuff, and actually found the golf swing more on the golf course today. So I don't think I will be practicing as much tonight, but I'll put a little bit of effort in, like normal.”
69-70 (-5)
71-70 (-3)
71-72 (-1)
The two-time Masters champ will play the weekend after missing the cut each of the last two years.
“The golf course is in great shape,” he said. “If you can hit the driver well and make some putts -- I've made a couple mistakes over the last two days that cost me, which you can't really do around here.”
75-71 (+2)
The 2023 champion has made the cut in each of his nine Masters starts.
“It feels very close. I wish I could explain it,” he said. “There's a lot of good swings that I just haven't gotten the reward I thought I was going to get, but it feels a lot closer than the score reflects. Also, it's a heck of a golf course we're playing out here. It's not easy. It's very difficult, especially with the wind. It's always going to be harder to minimize mistakes.”
74-72 (+2)
The 2011 Masters champ missed the cut last year.
“I didn't play nearly as good today as yesterday,” he said. “Today was a bit scrappy, a few bad iron shots, so I made stupid bogeys. But yeah, fought it out at the end just to try and keep myself on the weekend.”
72-74 (+2)
Niemann was 4-over-par on the second nine Friday.
74-73 (+3)
Johnson ended the day with a bogey on No. 17 and a double No. 18. The 2020 Masters champion missed the cut by one shot.
“Yeah, I'm playing better than that I scored for sure. Didn't score very well,” he said. “Yeah, tough finish there. Played pretty solid all day until last two holes. But, you know, this golf course, it's a pretty tough finish. If you drive it in the fairway it's not tough. You miss the fairway, it's difficult.”
