WEST LAFAYETTE − Purdue basketball's offseason has been about building a championship caliber roster.
With center Oscar Cluff and forward Liam Murphy secured from the transfer portal, along with the addition of 6-foot-4 Israeli playmaking guard Omer Mayer, the Boilermakers can now turn their attention to the 2025-26 season.
That schedule will include a home game against Kent State on Dec. 29, Jon Rothstein posted on X. It will be the first meeting between the two programs since Purdue won at Kent State in December 1971. Former Purdue guard Tommy Luce is on Kent State's staff.
It's the fourth known non-conference game. The Boilermakers announced earlier this week they'll play at Alabama on Nov. 13. Purdue plays Auburn on Dec. 20 in Indianapolis and will host Marquette in the second part of a home-and-home series after the Boilers played in Milwaukee last season.

Purdue is 2-1 all-time against Kent State. The 1971 final meeting marked the third straight season the two met.
The Golden Flashes went 24-12 this season and advanced to the NIT quarterfinals.
Since losing to eventual NCAA runner-up Houston in the Sweet 16, Purdue lost senior Caleb Furst to graduation along with Will Berg, Myles Colvin and Cam Heide through the transfer portal. Purdue's three recent acquisitions join incoming freshman Antione West on a roster that, along with seniors Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer and Trey Kaufman-Renn, is expected to be a preseason top-five team.
