Thursday may mark the big league baseball Opening Day with the parade leading the town to first Cincinnati Reds game of the season, but on Friday the Reds are off and high school baseball is on.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association baseball season opens for play on Friday, beginning the march to state tournaments that end the season in mid-June.

The Southwest Ohio Baseball Coaches Association released its preseason poll of the area's top teams. This is the first season of Ohio baseball to feature seven divisions, an increase from the four divisions recently used.
