14 point win on the east coast at 1pm start. Find something else to bitch about. JC, some people are just , well............ i don't want to get myself banned. I swear there's some people you could give them a million bucks and they would complain that you gave it them in a paper bag.

Fitz routinely catches throws that are very high which is why he is considered to have the best hands in the league. Let's not start acting like Matt is the only one who makes him jump for the ball.

You know it takes a near perfect day by Kurt to even get a be grudged "I was wrong" from some of you guys. He is not through. He is not hurt. He is not to old. Given a solid gameplan and good protection he can have days like this. Matt will be there for the future but we should have no more Kurt should be benched this season. If he gets hurt that would be the only reason we should not ride his arm as far as it will take us. Having a threat of a running game today and playing to the strengths of the guys on the field make for a record type day for a top Qb. Any Qb would have won today. The great ones set records while they win. Now step up and eat your crow for saying Warner was done. No one is sticking a fork in him yet. You know who you are.

I'm furious with the move. I still am. This is not college! This is the NFL, and you put 50 up on a team if you have to. We all know the history of the Arizona Cardinals coasting when they think they have a lead. That young buck catches that touchdown in the 4th and we might be looking at an epic fail of legendary proportions. Kurt is your damn starter for a reason! Mop up is 4th quarter with 5 minutes left. Don't ever do that again Whis. Ever.

That's absolutely where I stand on the subject.

Stupid move.

This is how I see it also. You can not defend the timing as it sent a message to the team that we have this in the bag. Anyone can objectively see this. It was a bad choice by the coach to do it that early. He should have kept momentum until there was no doubt. It would have sent a really bad message had he had to admitted his mistake and put Warner back in. We had not punted until this time and we gave momentum to the Jags. Simple as that. Only bad choice Whis made all day. He does need to bench Levi though.

Agree with this as well.

No one is complaining about the victory, we are just questioning why Whis made that move. This was a decision that could have easily backfired and looked possible until DRC picked off that pass.

It was the right move to put Matty in there, the timing of it; however, was atrocious.

The issue is that putting Lienart signals the team we are in cruise mode now... the drops indicate lack of concentration.

Point is your offense was flowing flawlessly and then you put unnecessary burden on your defense that were started to wear down with that humidity.

Agree with this as well.

So what if Whiz leaves Warner in and he gets injured in a 3 TD game. All the hysterical rantings would never stop.Like Shane said earlier-Bunch of whiny ass babies.

LOL! Are you serious? Easy for you to say with a W. You'd be up in arms like every one else had we lost that game. The fact is that we did an excellent job protecting Kurt all day. You can't play NFL football scared. If that's the case sit Kurt down to begin with. Why play him at all?? There are 14 more games to go and like Mr Edwards says. "You play to win the game."

UOTE=Crazy Canuck;2097415]Yes, I'd prefer that every ball be a perfectly thrown spiral that hits me in stride, but if those are the only balls I can catch then I've got no business in the NFL.

Fitz has a very large radius and Matt's throw was in it; same case for Becht.[/QUOTE]

I agree. Both of those balls should have been caught.I have no problem with Whiz putting in Leinart when he did.My worries are with the D and there inability to stop a team on 3rd down. How many 3rd and 4th down conversions did the Jags have in the 4th quarter?

Shane, I think you may be looking at Kurt's alleged frailty and advanced age more than anything. The Cards brought him back because they thought he could withstand the rigors of one (hypothetically 2) more seasons. I have no reason to disagree with the front office. Despite the large lead, knowing Garrard's success against us in the past, and the fact that he is a good qb, that game was not over. I just saw no reason to bring Matty in at that time. Not mad that they did it, just the timing There was PLENTY of time left at that point.

For the game, Jax was 37% on 3rd down. 6/16 overall. I think they were 4/5 in the 4th which means that when Leinart was put in they were at about 2/11, 19%, for the game up to that point.

Sorry if it sounds likes Im being a jerk, but can we just stop crying already... We won the game. Be happy. I know its tough for us Cards fans to accept a win as a win, but just be happy we arent the dreaded 0-2.

I don't see anyone in this post crying. I'm proud as hell of this team today. Why does post game analysis have to be considered crying? We did win the game, but we can also break down what we liked and disliked. Don't begrudge those of us that like to do just that. I'll drink Kool-aid with you bro, but I'll also talk about the things that we need to do to ensure our continued success.

Read the title of this thread. We are expressing what we feel was a momentum changer for this game and how poor the decision was. As you state we won, and it did not cost us this time. But it could have and we only went 9-7 last season before we had the magical playoff run. So there is room to get better. We need to be as perfect as we can be and the Headcoach signaling his team that it is in the bag and 100% is no longer needed was a poor choice. Kurt could have gone one more series keeping momentum and not having Matt coming in cold and going 3 and out forcing the team to punt for the first time. If the thread was started you can bet there will be plenty of comment on both sides.:mulli::)

That team know what they have in Harrington. They dont have an overpriced back up with a huge escalator getting ready to kick in that you MUST find out if you want to keep or not based on real situations!

Shane, real situations?? Matt's job at that point was not to win the game. The game was supposedly already won. He was brought in, just as many in this post have pointed out, to "give Kurt a rest", and to "avoid injury". If we had moved the chains those few times, you might not have seen him throw another pass all game, doing nothing but handing the rock off. Heck, Brian St. Pierre could have done that.

Let me just set you all straight on this issue. :D

Whiz had the right idea, given how the game was playing out, in putting Warner in. He just did it one series too soon. And that is not an inconsequential fact. It really is not.

That, I think, is what this post is about.

If Wiz, or any of you, had to make the call in hindsight, what would you do?

I suspect the answer would be.... send Warner in for one more series.

Damn I am smart. :D:D:D:D
