I stated this in the game day thread but I keep thinking about it. Whiz is fully responsible for hiring defense coordinators. He has fired 2 coordinators now and all 3 he has hired have played the same style of defense except a little worse.

We have for 5 years have to have the worst 3rd and long defense in the NFL.

We constantly have not had a pass rush and we play 15 yards off of receivers.

We never double the Prime time opponents WR so hence he usually burns us for a)a 80+ TD or b)12+ catches for 150 yds and 2+ td's

Our defense always has dumb penalty's

We always are out of sync, look enept.

But the problem I have Whiz backers...please tell me how it isn't his fault? He hires these guys and you would think...there styles would be different. We look worse every year. In fact I wish we had Pendy back...his teams atleast showed up sometimes.

The Raiders lost 28-0...QB situation was a mess...But Hue Jackson said it was "100% his fault" He didnt say plays were there but the players missed them. He didnt say...the players lack execution. He said in all phases his team was beat and he is responsible for all phases. He said it will be fixed. The sad thing is I believe him. Most teams dont lose the same way week after week.

Oh wait...The Cards do.

1 more thing.....I complained about throwing deep passes. My bad....Kold throws 40+ yard passes on almost every play since he back pedals about 22 yards backwards before he throws. No wonder we dont throw deep passes...he would have to chuck it 85 yards. :mulli:

Camp, I've been a lone voice in the wilderness, along with Buckybird, about this for a long time. There is just something about working in Arizona as a Professional football player that turns anyone with any semblance of an aptitude for defense into an idiot.

I'm not a Whiz backer in the way I believe you mean. I think there is a time and place for firing a coach and doing it mid way through the season seems pointless especially considering an interim coach would be from within the organization.

I think with the way this boat is sinking we should ride it out and see what happens especially since firing Whiz is kinda ridiculous as long as this team doesn't have a real Front office and a real GM

If you think, in large part, that this teams failings aren't due to the lack of talent and the jettising of talent then you'll have the same issues with any new coach.

Fire graves and let's get some talent in here!

You do understand that Whiz is calling the shots with player personnel don't you?

We have had talent and still couldn't play defense the last 5 years.

Look it would be ridiculous for me to say Whiz or any other coach doesn't have say in player selections, draft picks etc but the ineptitude of graves drafts, trades goes back to the Tobin years

Tell me having Pace (too expensive-looks like a deal now) Dansby who was the heart of this defense, Antonio Smith who with Dockett help solidify the front 4, DRC, Breaston, Boldin. I could go on. It's ridiculous to think that any coach would have great success with the likes of Porter Haggans Wilson and the rest of the old mans club

This defense hasn't been solid since Pendy and even then it was done with some and mirrors.

CKW couldn't field a decent defense with Antonio Smith, Karlos Dansby, Darnell Dockett and Antrel Rolle.

You are making my point for me. Haggans, Porter, those are Wiz's boys. The roster turnover was due to Whiz. The bad drafts, Whiz. Bad assistants, Whiz. Sorry man but you are confused about who is ultimately calling the shots. You think Graves just struck lightning in a bottle during Denny's time here on draft day and in FA? No, Denny was calling the shots. Hell Whiz can't even bring in a JJ Arrington or Robert Griffith type player. Whiz is THE PROBLEM. It starts and ends there. A new GM would help but the current GM is not the manufacturer of this hot mess. The team is a reflection of Whiz. This is what he wanted. He wants his guys. The team wrongfully entrusted him to build it and he has failed miserably.

I have no problem with a change now, especially if a DC could be hired that would utilize a 4-3, The 4-3 would fit the Cardinal personell. 1st & 2nd down, Williams and Carter at tackle, with DD & CC at DE. Move DD & CC inside on passing downs, with Schofield & Acho at the ends or a mix of some sort depending on the situation. Porter and Haggens can be released.

It's time to make the changes that are necessary to get this team on the right track to compete. Maybe they could hire a real Offensive Line Coach.
