Ill guess:

Happy with signings, we were agressive.

Beanies job to lose.

Excitied about TE's

Always open to new signings

ready to sign fitz to a huge deal.

Some comment that people will read too far in to and call him cocky and smug.

It was good but I'm swamped with work right now. I will update in an hour.

FWIW, Whiz likes and wants Braylon Edwards.

I disagree, he is confident and people take confidence wrong and mistake it for smug.

I'm not mistaking it. I think Whis is smug in addition to confident. The QB situation last year could be summed up by him being smug (excessive pride in one's accomplishments). DA sucked, we all knew it but Whis surely felt he could "fix him" because of his success with Warner and Ben. And when that failed, Whis was sure Max's Moxie would carry the day. By the end of the year, Whis stared at everyone who thought his QB strategy was haywire and smirked. Yeah, it didn't work, but dammit, we'll still fix it. Damn the torpedos.

But, I'd rather have him in that mold than the Denny Green indecisive yank and pull strategy because he had no confidence in his own decisions at all, much less overconfidence. Or the bland persona of Tobin who was a decent coach but completely unmotivating.

Smug + results motivates, and the team can rally around it (Super Bowl season...). Smug + failure = what we had last year. IMO of course.

I love Wiz and actually completey agree with this.

He was way too sure of his ability to coach a QB up which is why we were in that mess. Saying that I think he learned a valuable lesson and think his "smugness" is an asset. Its not the perfect analogy but thats part of what makes Rex Ryan so beloved and why his players go all out for him.

Wiz has that we are better then you heir to him, but isnt as overt as Rex.

Like I said Ill take that over Denny, Vince, or Mac anyday of the week. It might lead to some bad decisions but at least he has a plan and philosophy and no one bats 1000.

Completely agree. The "we are better than you" mentality is awesome, and it can really rally a team. Ryan's outward bluster of it though is offputting to me. I much more prefer Whis smirking, winking but damn sure feeling the same way is a better approach. Because when it fails with the latter, you still have some rope to work your way back with. But when it fails with the blustery, in your face guy, it fails tremendously and working back is almost impossible.

I'd also go as far as to term the outwardly, overt guy like Ryan as "arrogant" and the smirking, silent but deadly version as smug. I prefer smug.

I agree with the gist if what you're saying, but not about this. Whis is a former TE coach and offensive coordinator, but he's never coached the QB position.

I think that Whis is certain that for the most part the quarterback is another interchangeable part in the offensive system that he's certain "works", and so when you have a faulty part you pull it out and plug in a different one.

I fall in line with the above... I LOVE Whiz's confidence. I LOVE his unwavering belief that he will succeed. And I think it's this character foundation that has led to the type of off-season activity we just witnessed as Graves and the Bidwill's believe and trust in Whiz.
I mean, pre-Whiz, could you have imagined this team making the type of moves, and the shear number of moves, they've made this offseason? Further, we're about to make a WR the highest paid WR in the league! Pre-Whiz, was that even imaginable???

Nobody is perfect... However, I'll take Whiz and his few flaws all day long and twice on Sunday, over just about every other Head Coach int he game today.

It's a crime that show was cancelled.

Just finished season 3(?) on netflix. A buddy told me a new season just started on one of the movie channels.

edit - guess hes wrong

In January 2011, Ron Howard responded to listeners' questions on the film while appearing on BBC Radio 5's Kermode and Mayo's Film Review. Howard said that "Arrested Development [the film] is something that the cast is very keen on... Mitch Hurwitz has been slowly developing the story". Howard added that "I'm a little bit like all the rest of the fans, I'll believe it when I'll see it" but that "I actually do think that it'll come to pass".[52]
In February 2011, Mitch Hurwitz stated during an interview with Digital Spy that "it is our sincere hope to shoot it and get it out this year," before adding that "a lot of things need to fall into place for that to happen".[53]
In a April 13, 2011 interview, Jeffrey Tambor stated, "Here's what I know and it’s the truth, rather than any hype, and I'm pleased to say it. The script is being written even as we speak, and it may even be completed. I think all systems are go, and I think it's very possible that you and I could be talking about the making of this film or even it being made by this time next year. It's all going forward and we have a better opening now, it's the perfect opening."[54] On the July 11, 2011 episode of WTF with Marc Maron, Arnett again confirmed that the Arrested Development movie was still in the writing stages, with Hurwitz planning something really "unexpected". He continued: "If all goes well, I think it's going to be something that's going to be really satisfying for people who're fans of the show; they just want to see the characters kind of back and interacting, and he's kind of come up with a cool way to do that."[55]

I think that Whis is certain that for the most part the quarterback is another interchangeable part in the offensive system that he's certain "works", and so when you have a faulty part you pull it out and plug in a different one.

That might be the case, but he went about 6 years straight with VERY high level of QB play under him either as OC or a hands on HC. I think he believes his system is QB friendly and am quite sure he takes alot of personal satisfaction of how both Big Ben and Warner played under him.

Lord knows I have made that argument for himso its a pretty sure bet he felt the same way.

So I think he thought he could take a guy like DA with a big arm or a guy with "moxie" like Max Hall and make them at least decent in his offense.

He was dead wrong but I understand that confidence. Like I said the production prior to 2011 backed that up. But we learned its not ALL the coaching and in fact you do need the players. I think he learned that too, which is why he went hard after Kolb.

I think coaches are so close to getting fired that you have to have confidence otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy. -However- thinking someone's public persona is arrogant and knowing the person actually is are two different things. Most of what we see of Whiz is in the press, often after hearing some version of the question "what went wrong" for the millionth time. Or something sounds elusive because it's supposed to be. I have nothing against the press, but I respect someone's opinion to not play ball at times.

PS - he might be totally arrogant. Just saying we are judging one version.

It would be interesting to compare videos from press conferences from 2008 after the NFC Championship game or after the Green Bay playoff win in 2009 or after the Cards crushed the 10-1 Vikings that same year vs some from 2010-2011.
