Did anyone else see this?? Somewhere, I think in the 3rd qtr. they showed a quick side-line shot of Whiz' with his hand on a players' shoulder talking. I think it was Q right after his BIG catch. IF it was Q I would say that this is a very good thing for this team. Whenever there's an arguement/disagreement (...And there will be MANY when strong personalities are involved) SOMEONE needs to extend the "olive branch". To make the gesture of, Hey, let's get back to doing something TOGETHER for the GOOD of ALL. Did anyone see this?? I could be wrong. GO CARDS!! :D

At the time I thought Whis was saying something along the lines of "Nice catch and run; that's why we rested you last week."

P.S. I'm not a lip-reader.

I thought he was saying "if you want that big, fat, contract with some other team, you better keep playing hard and producing because I won't hesitate to sit you if you start gimping it up again and it will be real hard to get someone to cough up that huge payday you want if they think you are a 31-year old WR who can't stay healthy, fumbles a lot, and has a piss-poor attitude."

...but I might be wrong...

I was listening to KTAR on my way to the airport yesterday and Wolfley was on and they had Q on. They asked Q if he respected Whiz. Q responded that he had a working relationship with Whiz and different levels of respect with players on the team. Q never did answer the question however based on how he danced around the answer I would say he has no respect for Whiz.

Sounds good to me.

As long as there is enought respect that has everyone trying to reach the same goal, I could care less if they hangout after work.

Thats no secret. Q outright stated he lost respect for Whiz when he came to him and just asked him to just sign the "pay raise" (not extension) the Cards were offering. Q felt Whiz was out of place and should have kept out of it. I cant say I disagree. But I still LOVE me some Whiz!

Without commenting on whether Coach was out of line, wouldn't Boldin have been better off taking the small pay raise? Now he's still stuck with his old contract and his value has not increased.

Monetarily he absolutely would have been better. They offered him a 4 million per year bump well that 12 million before taxes that would have been in his bank account already. IF yes I mean IF he was still on the team.

But for Q it wasnt just about the $$ increase. In any decent extension you are going to get a signing bonus. They didnt offer him one. So hypothetically lets say Q took the offer. Then with 4 million more in salary going against the cap the team finally decided that his injuries weren't worth the cost and they need that money elsewhere. Then the team cuts him. Q NEVER sees that money EVER. He like every player does was looking for some protection. Q took that as a slap in the face.

Yep, I understand there are two sides in "negotiations". A player has to get whatever they can or they are being used. From a professional point of view I believe Q made a mistake by making it personal when it was a business decision. My recollection was that the Cards wanted to deal with Boldin prior to Fitz. The Boldin camp saw a business advantage by waiting until after Fitz was redone. That wasn't a slap in the face to the Cardinals, it was business. It also backfired.

I listened to it too. It was the wrong answer. He is not trying to make things look easy.

How can you say what is the wrong answer FOR Q? That's pretty brazen wouldn't you say?

Judges say not brazen.

I care about this thing between whiz and Q about as much as whiz seems to. Which is not much. :)

The wildcard here is information though. Wiz isn't the person that was offering contracts, but perhaps he had inside knowledge of what the team was willing to do, and they had already reached their peak. Perhaps Whiz was trying to do Boldin a favor by suggesting he sign it because he knew it was that deal or nothing?

I agree with last sentence. But to openly say Q gave a wrong answer to a question is pretty brazen. He has no idea what Q thoughts/wishes are. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't make it wrong.

Who cares? Do you think the Cards could drop 100 on the Rams if they really wanted to. I think so.

I think a 70 burger is more realistic :)

I also think that when we score the last TD to make it 68-10 we should go for 2. That way we are the talk of the nation just like Stanford was against USC this last week :)

Yes, have Q throw it so he gets the national pub he seems to crave. Or maybe he doesn't.

No! Because at that time in the game the only WR's playing will be Urban, Doucet, & Morey! :D

And despite scoring four TDS Q will be pissed and will slip out the backdoor of the locker room, avoid the media and sulk in the back row of the plane back to AZ because he couldn't stay in the game to get a 5th TD.

Being one of Q's biggest fans/supporters these conversations make my skin crawl; at the same time I recognize Q brings most of this on himself.

Bottom line is when Fitzgerald decided to go all world Q's value went down, he knows it, the team knows it, we know it. Sucks for Q, but it is what it is.

Q should stay off the radio.
I heard the interview.
If Q doesn't yet understand why he SHOULD respect the Wiz, he never will.

I have a couple of thoughts on this matter for what its worth:

1. Boldin has run hot and cold on this issue since its inception. Whiz's approach to it has always been steady, neither high or low.

2. Whiz has more integrity than 99% of the coaches that have been in this league since I started watching in the early '50s. If, or when, Boldin moves on, he will find out just how much a man of Whiz's character means to a player in this business.

I guess I don't understand why Q is so steamed at Whiz for being involved in the contract talks. If I'm GM I want to know where my head coach stands on players and how they foresee using or not using the player and their overall value to the team and the direction the team is going in the future.
