I seriously love that guy!

http://azcardinals.com/blog/blog.php?author=1

coach Ken Whisenhunt was asked about the results of the MRIs each took for their reported hamstring injuries. “That’s a good question,” Whisenhunt said. “This time of year, there are a lot of seasonal allergies out there. I think maybe this was a seasonal injury. That’s what it seems to be. I’m going to have to look into that.”

He is a Legend in my book.

No doubt about it. I wouldnt even blink if they gave the guy a lifetime contract tomorrow. The joy he has brought to me while watching this team the last 2 years and actually being able to say I ATTENDED the FREAKING SUPER BOWL with the Cards playing in it was enough to wipe away the years of heartfelt sorrow at the end of every year for the previous 19.

He rocks!

I can only imagine what his response would have been to the dreaded "hurt while answering phone" incident. lol

Funny how you only ever mention Q and not the other game player DD!

I know... I think it's because means more to this team than DD ever will. And for me, as I have said time and again, Q was my guy from day one. DD never was...
So for me, Q has really let me down... Big Time.

DD whacked... always has been. And he's never been seen as a leader on this team. Q became a leader from the get-go. And what he did on the field cemented his position and legacy as one the greats to ever wear a Cards jersey.
And then he pulls all this crap. As I mentioned in the other thread - I'm embarrassed for Q. What a shame...

Also - at the biggest moment in the history of this franchise, I watched DD live it up with his mates as Q slipped away with Rosenhaus... pathetic...

This would seem to be the right thread to bring this up. After Brian Billick won the Super Bowl in Baltimore I bet you would have been hardpressed to find a Raven fan who didn't think they had the next Bill Belicheck.

Looking back you could say Billick was too arrogant and that he never showed his ability to turn that offense around even after being a known QB guru. Those were the telling signs at the time.

So my question is:

Does Wiz have ANY potential faults or hang ups? I mean I must be drinking the Koolaid hard core because there isn't a thing about him I would change. Is that because I am a fan or...? I mean this quote is just another example of how he handles EVERYTHING with tact and grace.

I remember SWD used to rail about the fact that our penalties didn't decline and we showed a lack of discipline but even those issues were cleaned up during the playoff run.

I think we have the best young coach in the NFL - yes better then Tomlin.

Someone tell me why I am wrong.

.

He's a bit stubborn, and gambles. Now, I personally like that but he could get in trouble just the same.

I love the man though, he has been the best thing about this franchise in a long, long, long, long time.

Yes. A lot of the coaches, free agents and philosophies Whis brings us are from Pittsburgh. As years go by (and not that many need to go past in the world of sports), those contacts will run dry. The guys he brings in will move on (coaches) or retire (players) and he's going to have to have built up a reputation and position big enough to be able to attract a broader range of contacts to keep the fold young and growing.

Good answer.

I like those two qualities as well (especially since they turned out so well when he was stubborn with Edge and almost all our trick plays were smashing success during the playoff run) but you are right in that they are a double edged sword that could cut both ways.

It is sad that Q's situation has turned into this. He was also like a Legend at one point. Now not so much.

But I dont think he has been that bad.

Billick was never loved by the fans. Why would people be impressed by the offensive genius who routinely put out a pathetic O. Raven's fans gave credit where credit was due, to ray Lewis and the D.

After what Boldin did as a rookie, despite coming into a terrible situtation as the second WR taken by a team with almost no talent and horrible coaching and where the majority of previous years draft picks, dissapointed at being drafted by the "armpit" of the NFL, dogged it and simply picked up their paychecks while they waited to get out of town, he'll have to do a lot more than what you mention to dissapoint or embarass me.

I can understand why you would feel like you do but what he's done is just business not personal as far as I'm concerned and in no way cancels out what Q has done for the Cardinals.

Whiz is all kinds of awesome. This Cardinals TEAM is about TEAM, not one player or another.

When you look back at last season, that was a great post-season run. It helped not having a lot of serious injuries, but there is also no doubt that Whis was largely responsible. From the initial decision to start Kurt Warner to the decision to reinstate Edgerrin James as the starter in week 17, his decision-making was impeccable.

Finally, the Cardinals have a 'new culture' and 'We do this together' was a nice start. Now let's do again in 2009.
