!st and 10 0n the 11 yard line and we run 2 plays up the middle, when Whiz knows that the line cannot run block. What happens we get a field goal as usual.

The play calling is horrible. If we are going to, be a run team and give up on the season, then stop playing the Senior Citizens and play the young guys, like Williams, Shofield and Jefferson on defense.

Actually we have been running well today... probably the only thing on offense that we have done well today

Oh jesus. Whiz cannot win with you guys. We get into the redzone and we throw it and DA throws a pick or we dont score and you guys bitch that we didnt run it.

He gets into the redzone and we run it two times in a game where we are actually running the ball well and you bitch that he didnt throw it.

It doesn't matter what he does you guys will say he is a terrible playcaller.

My sentiments exactly...

I have been fine, with a few exceptions, with the play calling. What gets to me...is on almost every single passing play, DA tries to squeeze the ball into a receiver while he has a wiiiiide open receiver on the other side of the field, or if he makes the correct read, he overthrows his target by 15 yards.

When defenses keep 8-10 guys in close to take away the run, we gotta have a qb that can make the throws to lessen the pressure on our running game.

Our running game still succeeds from time to time, but it's consistency won't come until we get a qb that defenses have to respect, and until our rb corp can get and stay healthy.

I agree. DOA is too stupid to run Whiz's offense.

Doesn't look like Whiz can win this year no matter what guys he's with.

41-7, 41-10, 36-18, and 31-13. That's Dave McGinnis bad.

I would like to see any team win with Derek Anderson and Max Hall getting trotted out as their starting QB. Whiz isn't calling the plays on D, so you can talk to Davis about the cardinals "defense".

No other team would have been dumb enough to end up with these options at QB.

Exactly. I love how people come on here and defend the coach because the talent sucks when it was the coach who picked the talent.

I love how people assume that Coach Ken Whisenhunt has absolute say over who the team signs and how it's all on him in what we lack. If he did have absolute say, there would be no need for Graves on this staff and the FO wouldn't have come out and told Whis that he couldn't pursue Bulger.

As for the coaching staff...who knows. Perhaps with the success that we've had the past few years, and even making the playoffs with Whis calling the plays...it could be that the FO felt we were fine with what we had and didn't allow Whis to go after an OC/DC. Afterall...the team is paying the coaching staff quite a bit as is. Fact is...none of us have a clue what all goes on behind closed doors during the collaborative decision making process.

Exactly.

I would have ran it. There really is no choice. I would rather shoot myself in the foot with a pop gun (running game) than blow it off with a grenade (Anderson passing the ball).

If Graves is overruling Whisenhunt, the most successful Cardinal coach in the modern era, when it comes to talent evaluation then there is no doubt why the Cards are once again the worst team in the NFC West.

I'm with you on saying that complaining about that sequence is silly. We were running well and do have DA as a QB after all. I don't blame him for calling two running plays in that scenario.

Today was less about the play calling and much, much more about Anderson sucking. Not to say we still don't need a strong OC, but it wasn't as bad today.

No, it was only 31-13 on the road instead of 36-18 at home. Showing steady improvement.

Defense and offensive line not good enough to be a running team...Quarterback not good enough to be a passing team. This team has no identity sadly, playcalling is not as big a problem as executing the called plays.

Trust me...the 36-18 game was much closer than the 31-13 game. :D

Regardless, they are both 18 point losses.

The QB fiasco is absolutely and completely on the coach... did he not know Leinart is not his guy after being with him for 3 full seasons? Did he not know that Warner at best will be there for just two years when he signed that extension? Why wasn't an heir apparent prepared then?

And if the answer to the first was that Whiz did not know until the training camp this year that Leinart is not the guy then that too is a coach's failure in a major fashion...

Any way this is sliced, it is Whisenhunt's fault.

But the 31-13 game was on the road and we had almost 400 yards of offense and ..... nevermind we just suck this season and sadly there isn't much hope that things will improve at QB next year either.

12-8 and a Super Bowl berth with 'em. 3-13 without 'em.

Until we get a QB, this is the new Arizona Cardinals. Everyone can say its not just DA but many things are wrong with the team. Well I think it's at least 80% or more on our QB position. If Kurt Warner was still here who thinks we wouldn't be running away with this division. I think we would have a winning record right now.

Please don't selectively quote my posts to use for sarcasm. I clearly said the playcalling wasn't as bad, and it definitely wasn't. This one's on DA (on offense, at least).

Cool, now I'm going to spend the rest of the season finding things to take out of context in your posts to use for sarcasm.
