If the Diamondbacks want to trade to get some of the young guys up, I think there are a bunch of guys they will try and trade. Some of those are:
El Duque
Gonzo
Counsell
Green

I know Gonzo can veto any trade but maybe he'll want to try and get one more ring.

Its really early (not to mention kinda depressing) to talk about the trade deadline, but if the Dbacks continue to hover somewhere around .500 like many predicted, theres still a couple guys that should be in demand. I think Counsell, Batista, and El Duque would probably have decent trade value if they have even just a mediocre season. Its hard to imagine nobody willing to trade for Hernandez given his versatility and postseason resume. I doubt anybody will want Green considering his contract, and Gonzo probably wont accept a trade unless some team is foolish enough to pick up the team option for next year (highly unlikely).

Even though his average doesn't back up what Im about to say, I think Gonzo can still hit. He should go to Oakland and DH or some other west coast AL team so he can be near his family. Maybe the Angels? At this point, I'd take a mid level pitching prospect for him (doubtful we'll get one though)

Of course, if the NL West holds to form, the Dbacks will be hovering around .500, and still in the race....

I think Gonzo will be moved... he is having a decent start the the season and I think the D'backs will offer to pick up a percentage of his remaining salary making him a perfect choice for a team making a playoff run. Making his position available to allow more playing time for one of the phenoms is worth it

I really doubt Gonzo gets traded because he would likely demand his option for 2007 be picked up by any team willing to trade for him. And since that option I think is worth around $15 million (more than premier players are getting these days), we'd have to throw in at least half of that just to get teams talking to us.

I hope the front office doesnt believe that. Even if the Dbacks are in the race hovering around .500, they wont get past the 1st round of the playoffs. We need to scrap our veterans and try to find some pitching prospects.
