Honestly, do the Cardinals go after a running back or do they go defense?

Unless there is a huge run stuffing DT that is worth, I think Denny goes all offense in the draft and takes a RB in the 1st round. They fill holes in the defense through free agency

:raccoon:

Or a shutdown CB.

We need to get some OL and a RB and a TE.

If the offensive line still sucks then drafting an RB won't help much.

We do need a running back however....don't have one now.

Isn't Shaun Alexander FA?

Will there be any good QBs on the board in the first round? McCown is awful.

RB or CB. I don't see us taking a DT, maybe Rodrique Wright if he comes out.

I don't see Green drafting Rogers or Leinart, would be an admission he made a mistake this year, and frankly he's adept at finding QB's somewhere else anyways.

The best player is probably Rolle, the 2 best RB's I've seen in college this year are not draft eligible, Adrian peterson of OU(frosh) and Reggie Bush of USC (soph). There are a number of good ones, so I don't see using a first rounder on a RB.

Frankly I'd go as high as a #2 in trade for a good one this year. Try to steal Jordan for a 3, or Larry Johnson for a 2. They could make a real difference THIS year.

Sprolles for 1st round pick.
I think Sprolles and Shipp will be nice one two punch, and with Fitzgerald and Boldin K.O.

It's kind of early but... CB Rolle in the 1st. Sproles may drop to the 2nd, depending on a lot of things. If he's there, I'd get him. DT and OL after that.

Who's that amazing linebacker guy? Anyone have a report on him?

Derrick Johnson. Yes he is an animal and could be a top 5 pick which is amazing for a LB. But unless we trade or drop Thompson we will not and should not draft him. All of our LB's our still under contract next year except for McKinnon and we already have his replacement in Hayes. I doubt we pick up a single LB next year unless maybe a late round MLB to backup Hayes.

Have you seen the kid from Minnesota,Maroney?I don't know what year he is but that guy is real good.I love Bush :D ,but i don't think he's big enough to be an every down back.It may be the same with Maroney but those 2 are the best i've seen.I still say our pick will come down to Benson or Rolle.

There arn't many holes in our defense guy's. It is the offense that has holes, and a lot of them

Bush is 6 foot 200 lbs and rock solid. He is plenty big.

But I dont think he will be an every down back either. What ever team picks him up in the 2006 or 2007 draft will use him at RB, WR, KR, and PR, he plays them all and plays them all well.

After today's game the biggest need is O-line. BIG is okay but not worth the money for where he should be playing, OG. Wells looks like a keeper. Step is all potential at this point, very little on production. Spikes is just bad. Clement spends far too much time looking down at his man getting up off of McCown. It's really a shame with Clement, since his back injury he has never been able to live up to his potential. Then comes the torn tricept tendon(twice) and he just isn't getting it done.

How about a TE who can block just a little and runs like a man with the ball. FJ is the most dissapointing player on the team at this point. IMHO.

So draft an stud LT & an OG. Then of lesser need are RB, CB, DB & DT.
Of course at this point I still subscribe to the BPA philosophy and another draft or two using this strategy is still the way to go.

If we go RB in the first round, my vote is for Cedric Benson of Texas. He reminds me of Ricky Williams.

Who is that CB out of Miami? I have heard good things about him. If we picked up another good CB or a big run stuffing DT, then this defence could become really good.

I'm going to wait until the end of the year before I start saying we draft OL. This unit still needs to come together and adding Shelton on the right side will help too.

I didn't think I'd have to say this until January or February, but here foes anyway: that theory is a load of junk. Unless there's a huge talent that slips way past where he's supposed to go, all the kids from that are ranked similarly are just that--similar in talent. Then you need to look at what your team needs--team needs ALWAYS figure into who you think is the best talent available, IMO.

Antrel Rolle is the CB from Miami, and he is very good. As far as DTs, there are only three so far that appear to be possible first rounders that I can see so far and those are Anttaj Hawthorne from Wisconsin, Rodrique Wright from Texas and Haloti Ngata of Oregon.
I have studied game tape of Hawthorne and Wright so far. Hawthorne is very strong and gets a good push on the pocket almost always, but is not very athletic. He won't chase anyone down from behind. Wright is not quite as strong but a little more athletic and faster. Both are run stuffer types, but neither has that quick burst that say a John Randle has.

From what I hear about Ngata, he is supposed to be more like a Ted Washington type of DT, just a huge immoveable run stopper. I will try to find some game tape of him last year and take a look to make sure. If I don't have one I will make sure to tape a game of him this year. Next years DT draft class is supposed to be a weak one.

EDIT: I know about 'Befor'... :hulk:

Ok I never saw the guy in person but is he about as big as Thomas Jones? He looks like his close in the pic. No more tiny RB's please :nono:

Is Christian Okoye ready to play?
