Horton sounds like the guy in line, heck it appears ownership already had a talk with him. If not Horton, I will say they will hire Norv Turner. I'm not saying I agree with this. Darn good OC, not head coach but going of my recent speculation that it is the old man Bidwill who controls this wayward ship after all in the present situation, and not his son as I had once felt good about...he will go off his admiration for Norv's past tenure with the Cowboys. It does not matter if he was not the head coach in Dallas, he was part of the Cowboys. I would rather have Whis as head coach than Turner and Turner as the OC...and in a perfect world retain Horton as DC, but that is just a fantasy. If Horton is hired, then he must have full reign to hire who he wants but will he really have that sort of freedom. Sorry guys, I'm bummed with the possible outcomes LOL

I'm gonna guess some sort of football coach either from within or from outside the organization.

The question is would it please everyone enough if the fired Grimm and Miller brought a true proven OC and OL coach and left Whiz at HC and somehow landed a QB in off season? Would you still be pissed or would that be enough to calm you?

Todd Haley...

Not my choice, but I'll put a Canadian dollar (worth more than the greenback) on it. (lol)

I would be all for it +10 because this organization's merry go round approach at the coaching position over the years does not work either. Does Whis have flaws, you bet but the cycle of changing coaches who would get frustrated with the front office and freak out is even worse. Oh, add to that someone who can scout QB talent :)

He is a college coach which means he might come cheaper than an experienced NFL head coach or coordinator, and you might be able to leverage staff control to get him to take a lower salary. Also helps that it would allow him to stay in the South West.

Whomever it is, salary will be a determining factor.

I would want Shaw over Horton. If Whis is fired, then one can almost be sure Horton is gone if not made the head coach, even if he would settle to remain as DC because that is how it works. New coach brings in his own guys, and one cannot blame a new coach for having that mentality

Heck I'd be happy if all they did was replace Grimm as Offensive line coach.

No, Whis without a QB is the tumor bro :D
Precisely. He can't handle, coach, evaluate or get the best of them either. Other coaches realize that, and do just fine with shotty QB play. Not Skelton/Lindley shotty, but that's on Whiz too. Skelton was his man this year, that tells me everything I need to know about him and where this has led us.

Because he has plenty of experience working for a clueless GM and a whacked owner ( twice).

I nominate Rob Chudzinski.
