Bingo. He made Matt McGloin (sp?) look like a good QB, for Pete's sake.

You understand what I'm talking about Stout. He turned McGloin into a QB who could read defenses and audible into other plays as well as go through his progressions.

McGloin's Stats

Gms Comp/Atts/Int Comp % Yds TDs Yds/Gm
McGloin, Matt SR 12 270 - 446 - 5 60.5 3271 24 272.6

Pretty nice stats if you ask me and he can run with the ball.

If we keep Whiz.
OC = Norv Turner.
Then trade for Rivers.

If we fire the Whiz era:
HC = Reid
QB - Kolb for 1 year (so we can tank)
Asst HC In charge of Defense = Ray Horton.

I think Horton is the perfect complement to Reid ala Jim Johnson in his early Philly years.

I hardly see Reid, who "dream teamed" his way out of Philly as our answer, but, I'd be happy to have Norv Turner at OC.

Can't understand all the love, considering the likely cost, for a QB who with Sanchez leads the league in turnovers over the past two seasons.

At my last job I was in and out of the Eagles Novacare Complex a lot. We whined and dined some people there a lot. In my opinion, Reid still know what he is doing.

From my point of view..... His car was always there. 5am to 11pm, I never saw it anywhere but in his spot. The guy has the hunger but his fan base has forgotten how good a run of success he had. Can any of us imagine winning the division over half the time in a complete decade? Man.... That would be nice. lol

His major fault: He gives a big leash to his defense. With that in mind he made a horrible choice when he picked Juan Castillo to move to the defensive side of the ball. That is why I think giving Horton some power and control over the defense could be a good thing. His style of defense fits in to the formula Reid & Johnson had during their best years.

I trust his offense with Kolb on top until he finds a successor. I trust his ability to find QB's. I trust his ability to evaluate talent. I trust his approach to the running game.

John Gruden called him the "Teachers Pet" on Holmgrens staff. He always had the answers, always got his plays on the coaches sheet for gameday, and was generally the best man on a staff that included Mooch, Gruden, and many others. Reid is the truth IMO.

I like Reid, although there's chapter and verse on mistakes he's made the last few years as the TRUE final word on staff and player personnel. Bottom line: I'd prefer keeping the guy who's beaten him consistently on the field - Whiz.

I think it may be time for Philly and Reid to part ways, and I think Andy might need a little time away. But as a coach I like him.

Whiz will be 2-2-2 in terms of winning seasons after this year.
Reid will be 9-3-2.
Coughlin will be either 10-5-2 or 9-5-3.

Coughlin has 8 division championships to Reid's 7. Coughlin has 2 conference championships to Reid's 1.

The difference is that Coughlin won two nail-biters against the Patriots in the Super Bowl, and Reid lost one against them. The difference between them might be Tyree's helmet-catch, Manningham's catch, and a puking McNabb. It's a totally fair point to say, "but that's everything." For Giants and Eagles fans, it sure is.

But if you were looking for someone to take over an organization, I'm not so sure I go Coughlin over Reid. For Cardinals fans, Reid's tenure looks pretty good.

So let's fire Whiz because he couldn't get his QB and O-line to produce and replace him with a guy who was fired becuase he couldn't his QB and O-line to produce.

Many times a change of scenery fires up a coach again.

I'd take Andy Reid in a heartbeat.

A guy I would look at, and I'll probably get blasted for it, is Josh McDaniels. Now that he was fired, and hopefully humbled in Denver, he'll come back and be a better HC. He has the mind for it. I just think he went into Denver trying to be too much like Belichick. He's still a young guy and the Cutler situation kind of threw him behind the 8 ball out there. He's worked with young QB's and that's going to the case if Whiz is gone and he comes from a winning environment.

If we keep Whis and if Reid would not mind...I would really dig having Reid as a OC and use his system on offense which appears for the most part quarterback friendly in comparison to our system that uh....works :)
