Boom, another potential Bidwill "I admire the Cowboys" sort of hire
Bill Haley (Crazy Man Crazy).Todd Haley.
The question is would it please everyone enough if the fired Grimm and Miller brought a true proven OC and OL coach and left Whiz at HC and somehow landed a QB in off season? Would you still be pissed or would that be enough to calm you?
it would please me. But the question is whether or not it would please the players. It seems apparent to me that Whiz lost his team. Will they respect him again next year if the rest of the coaching staff (minus Horton, assuming he doesn't leave anyways) is canned? I'd like to see:
GM: Graves out, Keim in
HC: if the team can give him 100% of their trust again keep Whiz and give Horton a lot more control with a lot more money to keep him around
DC: keep Horton. And his entire staff of D assistants, unless he feels otherwise
Lott and Alosi stay as strength and conditioning coaches. I think there's no problems there
Now all the changes...
OC: Miller gone, run out of the state. And Norv Turner in
OL: Grimm also run out of town. Hire Juan Castillo. He needs a job and has experience
Chad Grimm is Offensive Quality Control Coach? He should be shot. There's no "quality" on O. NONE
Switch John McNulty and Frank Reich. We have a guy with WR coaching experience coaching the QBs (and they don't look too good lol) and a guy with QB coaching experience coaching the WRs (who also don't look good. Even watched Fitz and Roberts drop some balls that were right in their hands this year)
This is a good post. I don't know if Juan Castillo would settle for OL coach though. And I'm not sold on Lott and Alosi dude, we've had a plethora of injuries this year.
Todd Rundgren? Please, no Norv, no Ryans, no college coaches. I don't like Dungy or Reid or Homgren either. Gruden would be great but why would he come here?Bill Haley (Crazy Man Crazy).
good point on the injuries. But most of em were not conditioning related IMO. Except Beanie, but he's always been a liability there. As for Castillo, he got his shot at coordinator, and couldn't make it a season. I don't think he'll have much choice and would be happy just to find employment so quicklyThis is a good post. knee? I thought he had turf toe? But I do think joint injuries can be avoided or minimized through training and conditioning. Stuff like concussions, Kolb's rib injury, RWILL's weird injury, etc. are much harder to avoid through conditioningHow are Beanie's knee woes 'condition' related?

well said Jetstream. Plus Gruden is a total hard ass on QBs which could kill a young kid if we were to add one...just like he did with Simms & Wiz did with Leinart. I'm not much on Gruden without a proven QB either. For me, I do not know what would make Gruden such a desirable coach. I find it ironic he is so watched in his sit down with college QBs before the draft when he himself could not find a QB for the life of his team during his final stint in Tampa...I remember the QB carousel mess he suffered in Tampa Bay which is hauntingly similar to our situation. Whis and Gruden suffer from the same affliction, they cannot spot a QB. They both reached the big dance and watched everything go south on them since then. He had a aging vet in Oakland in Gannon as we had in Warner. When faltering after his Superbowl win with the Bucs, much like we say Whis used talent left by Green which he did not acquire...the same was said of Gruden and the talent Dungy left him. If you want Gruden, we already have one just like him in Whis in my opinion. I actually think they are both good coaches but cannot spot or develop QBs and lack overall in acquiring the talent which they can show their coaching skills.

I also like Chip Kelly (?). The Oregon HC
