Carmelo Anthony's fiance LaLa Vazquez has released a statement claiming racial taunts and violent threats from Dallas Mavericks fans incited her at last night's NBA playoff game:

"Obviously the play-off games bring out the best and the worst in fans but what happened on Monday night with the racial slurs/threats, verbal attacks on my son and physical attacks to myself by irate fans was unacceptable. The fans were totally out of control.

What the cameras captured was me defending myself and didn't show the abuse that was taking place."

Footage shot at last night's game showed LaLa cursing and getting hostile as security tried to escort her out of the stands.

i wouldn't say they are the worst, but they did cross a line

then again i've always railed against harrassment of fellow ticket holders and gaining personal worth from the actions of others

as far as places i've seen games, i would say nets fans were pretty lousy - suns fans can get obnoxious when the bandwagon is rolling as many people there vocally don't know what they are talking about

my favorite fans are probably in philly - not crazy violent like eagles games - pretty knowledeable with just the right amount of ball busting

no way were people yelling the N word. They may have said her husband sucked...he's a P or a variety of words...but the racial insults I'M NOT BUYING IT.

I've been to too many games playoffs included and NO ONE I mean NO ONE has ever yelled the N word or went into racial slurs no matter the situation.

She's another in a long line who is quick to yell 'Racial slurs' when it my guess is that the people around her probably didn't know who she was and were talking S about her man and she couldn't take it and started yelling back at them....then it was on...mask was off and the guys were probably TO'd at someone yelling at them...thus the probable yelling of 'sit the &&&& down you *****....etc.

I'm so sick of people claiming racial slurs when more than likely did not happen.

think about it people...you've been to games...you may here a few cuss words, but NO ONE yells the N word or anything like it.

I think its fair to say the majority of people who come here to read or post are not casual bandwagon fans. Are you saying that Arizona fans that come to this board have no right to have an opinion on other fans because the majority of Arizona fans are "bandwagonish?"

I think its also obvious the intended tone of the post was to look at which fans are bad in terms of behavior.

I have every right to call out other teams fans for this behavior as does anyone else, regardless of how "bandwagonish" other Arizona fans are. Give me a break.

LakeShow fans....just as bandwagon as SUNS fans....except they don't have to hop off the wagon as often as we do...and we only get to jump back on every 10-15 yrs or so

I also hated how the NBA TV had the fan night thing where they would have the fans vote for what game they wanted to watch. Sounds great on paper....

Obnoxious and horrifically annoying lakers fans (what a surprise) always called in droves and it was a lakers game every single fan night until they realized the hopelessness of the situation and changed things to be more sane (NBA TV picked the games again so it could actually resume being NBA TV again and not "Lakers Defecation Grounds TV").

Now, it is not just that it was always lakers games that is what totally irked me, it was the fact that lakers fans already have the games on local tv, but their arrogant bs reaches so amazingly far that they had to poison NBA TV so thoroughly with their jackassery and incompetence that the rest of us were essenitially forced to have to watch the lakers, or in my case contemplate canceling NBA TV since I never watched the channel anymore as there was obviously now no reason to watch it. The vast majority of lakers fans can be like a blood boil on your anal orifice sometimes, spurs fans are not too far behind in that comparison either.
