I'm going to go way out on a limb and say the Colorado Rockies.

I voted D-Backs because I am a homer... but let's be honest with the scenario; the AL league is playing A ball, and the NL is playing B ball. If anyone has a chance though, it is "anyone at anytime"

I can never go against the D'Backs

But, realistically, someone in the AL. I hope the Angels, but CLE or BOS wouldn't be bad. Anybody BUT the Yankees.

Anybody but the Yankees and Boston... I hate the love affair the media has for these teams.

If the D'backs starting rotation pitches consistently well, we could make magic.

If not, it will be an uphill fight.

On paper, an AL team would be favored . . . I hate the American League!

And let's get rid of this BS of World Series home field advantage being decided by the All Star game. At least rotating it gives equal opportunity over the years.

If we didn't have home field advantage in our World Championship, we wouldn't have a World Championship. It outweighed the performance of the infamous B.K. Kim.

I seriously think the D-Backs have a legitimate shot... They definitly could make the WS, winning it would be the longshot but still possible.

Dbacks, for pretty much the same reasons Phxsports fan said.

I homer voted for the Dbacks, but really everyone in the NL has an equal shot. Especially if one team gets hot and has 2 shorter series, if they can be waiting for the AL team it would be a huge advantage. If the Cardinals can do it last year, an NL team can do it this year too.

Yeah, where was our equal opportunity?

Maybe the NL should start winning ASGs in the future if they want HFA

Cause I'm a Phillies fan first and foremost. :)
What part of Jersey are the Phillies from, Jersey Girl?

The only New Jersey major team is the Nets, and they're headed to Brooklyn.

The Giants and Jets play in Secaucus, but they're the New York Giants and the New York Jets.

At least we have the Phoenix Suns, the Phoenix Mercury, the Phoenix Coyotes, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Arizona Cardinals.

Time to acclaimate, Jersey Girl. :)

I'm from South Jersey, my friend. :) I lived just a short 20 minute drive from Philly for practically all my life. Would have taken me nearly two hours to get to the Meadowlands.

Most people from south of Trenton root for Philly teams.

I'm Phillies first, Diamondbacks second, Yankees third. That said, I'll be at the D'Backs game cheering tonight.

If the Phillies were playing the Diamondbacks, you would be pulling for the Phillies, so you are a Phillies fan, not a Diamondbacks fan. Don't pull a Schillingfan here. I don't buy it when people have multiple teams. I agree with Gee on this one.

By the way, northern New Jersey rocks over southern New Jersey.:D

I can not express my hate for that rule enough. Who cares if the ASG was 'meaningless', it was just fun. It doesn't need to be hyper competitive, 80% of the players on the teams won't even be in the post season, so its not like Home Field even effects them. It should be done totally on regular season record, anything else is just silly.

I was raised in North Joisey and my sister lives in Cherry Hill.

But when I moved to Phoenix 29 years ago, I left the East Coast teams behind and became a Western fan -- Suns and Dodgers ('til the D'backs were born).

And I am a Yankee hater. So I sympathize with you 2-out-of-3. Rooting for the Phils and Yankees.

Of course I'd be cheering for Philly if they were playing the D'Backs. I've been cheering for them since I was old enough to understand what baseball was. I selected #14 for my jersey number when I played little league because I loved Pete Rose. It's no secret I'm a Phillies fan.

Okay. So, should I stop rooting for and attending games of the Suns, D'Backs and Coyotes just because my first loves are the Sixers, Phillies and Flyers? Sure. That's good logic because Chase Field certainly needed more Cubs fans in attendance last night rather than fans like me with my cool D'Back rattle and loud ass cheering.

By the way, northern New Jersey rocks over southern New Jersey.:D

Blah. BTW, it's South Jersey, not southern New Jersey. Get it right, pal. :p

BTW, I want to change my Phillies vote. :bang:

I like all the teams in the playoffs except for the Scrubs and the Yank-mes. So I'd be happy with anyone but them winning.

Ideally I'd like the Tribe winning.

No one I know says Joisey except people from up north. :p

I'm 35 and was my father's first kid. Just because I wasn't born a boy, didn't mean I was daddy's little princess. I was encouraged/forced to play baseball and go to every sporting event with my dad, my grandfather and my uncles, especially when there was a giveaway, lol. So, I've been cheering for Philly teams since I knew how to.

I can understand the frustration of some fans here in AZ about people moving here and cheering their "old" teams. There were WAY too many obnoxious Cubs fans in the stands last night. I would NEVER cheer like that in ANY opposing team's stadium, no matter how many other fans of my team were there. It's disrespectful ... at least that's what my family taught me. They taught my sister that, too. That's why, when Cowboys fans started being jerks at UofP stadium, my sis (a Cowboys fan who came out for the game with em) told them to stop act like jerks and have some respect.

In any case, I think it's kinda funny that, in some peoples' minds, I can't be a D'Backs fan at all if I'm a Phillies fan. So, would you rather I just never go to the stadium and cheer for the D'Backs? BTW, I've been to four games this year and cheered for the D'Backs every time. Yeah, I know that isn't a ton, but how many have you guys been to?

They looked pretty good tonight.

The Yankees sucking didn't really make me all that sad. Guess the Phillies are in total control of breaking my heart this year. I knew the Rockies beating the Padres wouldn't bode well for the Phillies. I just didn't think it would suck quite this bad.
