Maverick McNealy has been married to his wife Maya McNealy since 2023.
The golfer, who turned professional in 2017, met Maya when he visited the physical therapy clinic she worked at in Las Vegas. He proposed to her at Lake Tahoe in August 2023, and they got married that December.
She’s been there to support him in both his golfing career and his passion for flying — Maverick is a licensed pilot — and often accompanies him to tournaments. She was there to witness Maverick's first tour win at the RSM Classic in Georgia in November 2024 — and had the important role of calling the golfer's parents on Facetime after he birdied the 18th hole.
“Maya knew her job, if it went well today, to get them on the phone as soon as possible walking off 18. I’m the luckiest guy ever," Maverick said at the winner's press conference.

Maya attended Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas and Arizona State University from 2016 to 2020. She then returned to Nevada to attend the University of Las Vegas College of Liberal Arts from 2020 to 2023, where she received a degree in kinesiology and exercise science.

Maverick and Maya got engaged on Aug. 16, 2023. Maverick announced the news on Instagram the following day, sharing a photo of himself proposing at Lake Tahoe.
The following month, he captioned a post, “How this summer has gone … mostly rehab, some fun (non-golf) travel, scored myself a fiancée, and capped it off with a private pilot instrument rating!”

Maverick and Maya got married on Dec. 6, 2023, with Maverick’s brother, Scout, officiating. Maverick posted photos on Instagram a month later, and called it “a day too special not to share.”
A year later, Maverick celebrated their first wedding anniversary by sharing a photo of himself and Maya from the occasion and wrote, “Happy One-Year Anniversary to my real trophy (wife)! Best year of my life, I love you!!”
He explained on his foundation’s website that he and Maya eloped and hosted their wedding celebrations for their first anniversary instead.

After Maverick won the RSM Classic in 2024, he paid tribute to Maya in his post-tournament press conference. Discussing how his wife had traveled with him to several PGA Tour events that year, he said, “I played more golf than I have just about any other year and I had way more fun because Maya was able to put her life on hold and travel with me all year."
He also said that she’d helped him gain some perspective before the RSM Classic when he was frustrated that he’d not yet won a PGA Tour event. “Maya was chatting with me when I was maybe a little bit — being a little bit dramatic but a little bit frustrated,” he said. “She said, 'Well, if you knew you were going to win like in six weeks, would you do anything different?' I said, 'Well, probably not.' So six weeks I did get my win. No, I wouldn't have done anything different.”
She also participated in the annual Par 3 content alongside McNealy at the 2025 Masters.

Speaking to the PGA Tour in October 2023, Maya said Maverick is “watching airplane videos any time he doesn’t have a golf club in his hand,” adding, “I don’t know how he has the time or the mental patience to get better at both things consistently ... but he’s one of the most determined people I know.”
Maverick added of Maya, “I told her, ‘By the way, I’m going to start getting my pilot’s license, and she looked at me like I had three heads."
