The passive era of Melvin and Hinch has ruined the D'backs. Passive doesn't beat opponents. Aggressive does.

But when Justin Upton turns a double into a single by showboating -- standing at home plate admiring his fly ball -- here is his explanation.

I should have been on second at least. It's one of those things that happens and you've got to learn from it.

No, Justin. "It" didn't happen to you. You made it happen.

And "You've got to learn from it"? C'mon Justin. Think in terms of "I've got to learn from it." Take direct responsibility, as any child would be taught.

It may seem like a small thing to some, but that mindset is what has kept us at the bottom of our Division.

Even though Hinch took him out of the game, I got the impression that his reaction was barely more than a yawn on the Emotion scale.

How I wish that Chip Hale (our Minor League manager of the year) who had developed the BabyBacks was chosen as Diamondbacks Manager. I guarantee we would not be tied for last place in our division at this time.
