CHEBOYGAN – It was a big season for many basketball players in the Cheboygan area.
On the boys side, several stood out as they delivered on the court time and time again.

REGIONAL GIRLS BASKETBALL FINAL: Inland Lakes no match for Cullen, No. 1-ranked St. Ignace in regional championship loss
With basketball season now complete, be sure to cast your vote on who was the best player in the Cheboygan area for the 2024-25 campaign. The poll opens on Monday morning and closes at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Here’s a look at the nominees:
Carson Kiefer, Cheboygan – A top all-around player, Kiefer made such an impact for the Chiefs, who captured 15 victories.
Gavin Smith, Cheboygan – Came up with a solid sophomore season and was pivotal in Cheboygan’s success.
Nolan Schley, Cheboygan – Whether it was rebounding or scoring, Schley provided consistency, especially during the second half of the campaign.
Aidan Fenstermaker, Inland Lakes – A top scorer and elite defender, Fenstermaker closed out his career as one of the best players in the Ski Valley Conference.
Mason Beebe, Onaway – Arguably the area’s best scorer, Beebe capped off his Onaway career with an excellent senior season.
Josh Grondin, Pellston – Another outstanding scorer, Grondin elevated his game even more during his junior year.
Joshua Ferraiuolo, Burt Lake NMCA – Surpassed 1,000 career points and was key during NMCA's success.
