I have had many arguments with posters recently, and all where over players that are now no longer with the Cardinals any more. It seems every one is agreeing with each other and all happy again, with no arguments. I would like all the pro- Plummer people to please step up, all the Pro Thomas Jones fans to step up and all the pro Warhop fans step up, it has been a little quite and I would like you all too come back and state a new case. Plus I would like the very anti-JeffBlake crowd and Emmitt Smith crowd to stake there claim now. There must be 100's of members biting their tongue, because I remember these guys had mad-support for there players but it seemed like you dissapeared with the new signings. I criticized Plummer and Jones very badly and I feel I was justly criticizing their play. I would like all the experts on this board(that have dissapeared during these transactions) re-appear too support there opinions, about the great Plummer, Jones and Warhop. You guys seem very quite lately.

PS, just doing this to see who really backs there opinion,

"opinions are like Ass-Holes every one has one"

I believe everyone knows that I am a Plummer supporter/fan. So if you want me to pipe up and state again I think he will be sucsessful, here ya are.

If your questioning why we are quiet on the Plummer issue its because since he has signed with Denver, there really is no Plummer issue any more. I am first and formost a Cards fan, which means I concern myself first and formost with what the Cardinals are doing.

Plummer is a Bronco. Time to move on. Hope he does well.

Boston is a Charger. Time to move on. Hope he falls on his face.

Blake is a Cardinal. Hope he does great.

Emmitt is a Cardinal. Hope he runs for 2,000 yards, 200+ vs. the Cowgirls, and leads the Cards to the playoffs.

What else do you wanna know?

I wrote in an article for this site last offseason that I thought Thomas Jones would have a successful year. He got off to a good start, leading the NFC in rushing after 4 games. He got hurt, Shipp played better, he had that stupid incident, and I fully support him being released. I'm a fan of the team more than the players. I was wrong that he'd be a good back here. He might be somewhere else, we'll see.

As for Plummer and Warhop, we were on the same page.

I will pipe up no problemo there Devon!

I agree with Plummer and Warhop much like AJ but I still believe that TJ has the talent and skill to make it in this league. He was doing very well for himself at the beginning of last year even if you take out the Seattle game! If it wasnt for the ankle injury with which he showed true heart and grit by trying to play through it he would have went on to a good season! I am a huge Shipp fan as well always have been and you know that!

He will go somewhere else and be a very successful RB in this league! There is no doubt in my mind!

This will be Garrison Hearst #2

I do not even know the status of Thomas Jones but I do not think we have heard the last of him. If he is healthy I think he will turn out to be a decent RB in the NFL.

Devonthedolt, looking for another argument.

Plummer will be successful, I am very happy we have Jeff Blake and think he is a better fit for us, good bye Thomas Jones, Emmitt for MVP.

That sums it up.

Do I have to actually "stand-up" while I type this?

Like most of us, I too was a Jake supporter until midway through the 2001 season. He turned it around to close out the year, so I had hope for him entering last season. Obviously things didn't work out. He is gone now, and I'm fine with it. I hope Blake does well for us, and while we're on the subject, I have always been against us taking a QB in round 1 this year.

I thought losing Boston stunk, but I don't see the use in running around like a chicken with it's head cut off about it.

Living in the Virginia area, I got to see/hear a lot about TJ while he was in school. I thought the entire Urlacher/TJ debate was moot point. We had major needs at both positions and as long as we got either, I was happy. That said, Urlacher was the riskier pick of the two, as TJ had much more success out of college than Brian.

Joel Mackovicka - I was totally hyped over his selection. Too bad it didn't work out.

Well before last years draft, I felt we needed to go LB in round 2, and I was heavily criticized for saying so. Turned out I was right. (some saying about a blind squirl and an acorn are jumping in my head at the moment.) Admittedly I was hoping that Napolean Harris would somehow slide to us at the top of the 2nd. Fisher was not on my radar.

I still feel Wadsworth was a great pick for us, and Eric Swann is the best DT the Cards have had since the move to Arizona. In fact, I hope we establish a ring of honor in the new stadium, and Eric would be the first guy I put up there, followed by Ken Harvey.

Speaking of Ken Harvey, I hated Buddy Ryan the day his hiring was announced, and it was the closest I've ever come to picking a new team.

My initial, knee-jerk reaction to Emmitt possibly coming here was that I was totally against it. But like Darth Vader, maybe there is some good left in him, so I will stand behind him. If he flops, feel free to flame away at me. Also, I fail to see how people can project Shipp's 180 career carries and make him an every-down franchise running-back. Maybe he is, but I dont see it yet.

Finally, I don't see why Poole has so many supporters in here. IMO, he was never more than a better than average college player, and a sup-par pro.

My legs are getting sore, so I'm gonna sit down now. Keep in mind, that I don't claim to be a scout, coach, GM, or freelance consultant in regards to the NFL. I also feel Bill Bidwill has more football sense than most of us in here --Devon excluded  Feel free to toss your nany-nany-boo-boo's at me all you will. I still stand behind all that I wrote.

Go Cards!!!

Dev - With so much to look forward to - reflecting on the woulda-couldas of Plummer, Boston and TJ is tantamount to driving while your eyes are focused on the rear view mirror.
