They always seem to be in an awesome position to gain some ground in the conference and come out and play like crap.

Why can't this team win when they truly need it? They would have been tied for 8th if they won tonight...

Get used to it. This team is going to be Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the rest of the season. Don't be surprised if their playoff push comes down to the last week of the season.

Give me a break they lost to one of the top teams in the league on the road not exactly a terrible loss. They were right there until a few home court calls and hot shooting by the Magic nothing to hang your head about.

WELL ... we did win against the lakers WITHOUT nash, who today had 7 turnovers and shaq had 4 turnovers, so0o ...
i am concluding that the shaq and nash "connection" is off today because nash just got back from injuries.

The whole tempo of the game was off, in my opinion, I did not like it one bit. The ball movement wasn't as "crisp" as usual.
Just my opinion because nash just got back in to the driver seat and need a game like this to adjust to driving the suns Van again.

Face it, this team just isn't very good. Without Amare, they live and die by the jumpshot and good teams can't do that.

Let's hope Swift gives the Suns more help inside. When Shaq leaves the game the Suns seriously need more height and someone else to help out on the boards.

But Amare had a sweet jumpshot and gave the Suns easy points when he slashed to the basket.

Amare was always a beast against the magic. He was missed tonight. Shaq played a nice game, it was wasted as rashard lewis killed the suns from the PF, 29/12, he averages 5.8 boardes a game. Okay I give up, uncle, bring on swift, lets see what he has to offer.

Once Swift gets here things will be fine. He was the second pick in the draft, better than Amare who was a ninth pick. I think they should try to sign Olowokandi too.

lets start of with the point guard. while steve nash maybe one of the best offensive point guard in the nba. he may also be one of the worst defensive point guards in the game. i am not saying this to bash him but to be honest. next guarding players on the wings everyone that we have out there is getting owned by 6'10" guys that are shotting over them. so jason richardson or grand hill but are having a hard time guarding these players. and then when we go inside for all for all that shaq has done in the past he isnt the same player he was a few years ago that everyone in the nba had to base a hack a shaq defense around. in the end the suns real problem is age. we have all old player that have a hard time dealing some of the quick young guys in the nba.

I agree about Amare's jumpshot and that's one of things that made SSOL a beautiful thing to watch. I'm also aware that Amare led the league in slam dunks a couple of years ago.
My only complain about SSOL is that the Suns fell love with the jumpshot and would rely on it too much, especially late in games.

Howard has always had trouble guarding Amare, even gets into foul trouble in trying to do so.

Yep, with amare the suns trump the magic, especially without Nelson. When you look at head to head with alot of bigs, amare is a beast. I hate to see him go, but $ says he is gone.

That's what motivated the Suns to bring in Shaq. They figured in tight games they could throw the ball down to Shaq versus relying on a jumper to win games. I think we miss Amare's offense from the standpoint that it's easier to score with him in the lineup. Guys have done a great job on this team picking up the offensive slack.

However, the miss Amare's size and space he takes up in the paint (regardless of him not playing very good defense). This team looks so small when Shaq goes to the bench.

Come on Andrew let's get the facts straight if you are going to start a thread. The Suns wouldn't have been tied for 8th if they won last night. Dallas (the 8th seed) is 36-24 and if we would have won we would have been 35-25 (still one game back), but instead we are 34-26 and are 2 games back.

Sorry for this miscalculation, but this wouldn't be ASFN without someone bringing it up.

Bringing what up? The miscalculation? Andrew you can't build a whole thread based upon inaccurate facts and then complain about the board when someone calls you out on it.
