I just don't get it. I'm looking at the stats of Edge throughout his carreer and they are very good. I think the most important stat is YPC. Obviously if you run a long run it just averages into your YPC. So if you have same YPC carry as Edge does but you have a long run, that means you just get stopped with very little gains a lot more.

Let me ask you this. Would you prefer a guy who you were guaranteed had 4 yards a carry each play or would you prefer to have a guy who had 2, 2, 1,11? Of course the 4, 4, 4, 4 woud be better because you would have already made a first down after the third run. With the first guy you would have punt. Also how abou third down and 4 when you need just the 4 and aren't worrried about getting a long one?

Anyways.. I like the guy who is consistant.

I was also looking at other players who have good Olines and Edge's previous years and he is way up there on YPC. Better than someone like Duece McCalister who is much hyped as a great running back and Reggie Bush.

Adrian Peterson should be more than happy if he has a career like Edge. Hell at this point he should probably be happy if he can come close with all of his injuries. Now he may not even play next year. I'm happy with our pic of Brown. I see the Broncos plugging any rb and being successful. I still think the OL makes the running back more than anything.

I dont think they hate Edge. Its a matter of the latest 2 RB trend. Wiz saying he wants to run the ball 55% or more of the time which would leave a lot of carries on the table for someone not named Edge. Future of the position.

I got the speed part, that was kind of my point. The Speed guys in the NFL should be making 6 yards per carry then because their "speed plays" should be averaged into their other run plays. Guess their aren't too many speed guys out there because the best average is normally in the 4's. I guess those speed guys have a lot of 0's and 1's ypc too.

Also if we had had a decent line who doesn't think Edge could have picked up at least an extra yrd per carry? He had a lot of 0's when he was hit in the backfield.

I absolutely do. From his refusal to workout with the team, to his pedestrian running ability, etc. He came here for the money. Don't believe the b.s. about wanting to be apart of "the turnaround". Edge is overhyped, nothing spectacular, and boring. There are MANY, MANY runningbacks I'd rather have on this team....AP only being one of them. AP was handed to us on a silver platter and Minnesota laughed their collective asses off.

AP is the Boldin of running backs. I love Boldin, and the combo of Leinart, Boldin, Fitz, and AP would be ridiculous. Edge is a boring grinder. Never a homerun threat. I don't understand why folks can't see that.

Sounds like it to me....

Hmm, I'll have to look for more than, I know I've seen at least half a dozen disapparaging comments at least as much for Edge

I agree on AP, I dont think we have a huge need for RB but AP IMO is so good I would of been thrilled to take him.

Now it seems his injury is a lot worse than first thought...

I think Brown was the right pick and I am ready to move on.

You can find a half a dozen easily but its still the minority.

I think Brown was the right move we have to get the oline upgraded. That being said evryone likes a home run hitter and I am not sure what Edge's longest run was last year but do not remember any long Td's. This is what AP would give you plus he would be heir apparent to Edge.

I am still very satisfied with Brown and Branch.

As you can tell I am a fan of Edge ...

And I did not want us to draft AP ..

I have been for rebuilding the Oline from day 1 ... just wait and see what Edge will do with a decent Oline ....

It amazes me that people are upset with a running back that gains just shy of 1200 yards behind a swiss cheese line that got no push for much of the year. What is a rookie with speed going to do when he's got three people tackling him at the hand off?

I love Edge. There are going to be a lot of people in here with egg on their face by the time he retires with Arizona
