SAN FRANCISCO — The absences of Brandon Crawford and Buster Posey were the most noticeable omissions from the Giants’ starting lineup Wednesday for their series finale against the Cincinnati Reds. Neither was a surprise. Crawford, coming off a 4-for-4 night and hitting .455 (25-for-55) in the month of May, has been playing with some back stiffness and manager Bruce Bochy is taking the long-range view. Posey, who would have played first base Wednesday if he played at all with a day game after a night game, also took a seat after taking a foul tip off the side of his helmet in Tuesday night’s 5-3 win over the Reds.
