Devin White is all in as a leader with exceptional Likability. What else do you want in a Captain for a defense that needs leadership and a middle linebacker? The guy will instantly elevate this team into contention and allow the offense some slack to find itself; directed by an intelligent JR

I'm a huge LSU fan (my brother is there and I was at LSU-UGA this year), but #1 overall is too high for Devin White. I'm skepical of the transformative power of an ILB in general, and I think that last year, even with bad coaching and a terrible offense, this defense was league average.

The problem is not the defense or the defensive personnel, it's a historically execrable offense. I think that you have to take a risk on a foundational defensive talent for the next generation (who would come into his own just as Patrick Peterson begins to decline), or you try and transform the offense if you feel like you have a transcendent opportunity.

Among the opportunities in a trade down, I don't mind getting Devin White if someone like Ed Oliver, Jonah Williams, or Clenin Ferrel are already off the board.

I think Devin White is going to be an excellent player but like K9 made comment, the position (though valuable as any on the field) does not approach the significance a pass rusher or a corner back may provide. For me the position of ILB is much like a guard on offense... a stud guard is wonderful but a dependable OT carries more value in round one

Devin White and Ed Oliver are my two favorite players in this draft. I would love a trade down scenario where we take either.

A trade down with several first round picks would be ideal to pick Oliver, Ferrell, or White.

I love some Devin White...was pimping him months ago. However, #1 overall would require a transcendent talent at MLB and white is not that.
he would be a great pick at #10

If White was Good as say a Lawrence Taylor or Brian Urlacher I would have to say YES to number 1,but trade Down would still be preferred

I get the feeling that White is underrated - maybe because there's an abundance of top EDGE guys - & those guys are sexier than ILB's.

From a needs standpoint, we haven't done much to stabilize the position since DWash (& maybe a wizened old Dansby).

Maybe it's time.

Good explanation, but I would take him over Jonah Williams and Ferrel. I am a big fan of White, I think he would actually be better in the NFL than in college.

I'm a Devin White fan. I like his overall game more than I liked Roquan Smith last year.

But drafting an ILB is kind of a luxury and I dont think I want one in the top ten unless the player is Luke Kuechly. Reddick hasn't been good, but the bigger issue was using a high pick on an ILB. Many teams find replacement level or better ILBs on day three of the draft, or at worst, day two.
