The announcement of early Big 12 football start times and TV assignments sparked complaints on social media and elsewhere. Three-time defending champion Oklahoma has three early kickoffs, including an 11 a.m. start with UCLA. Two of the league's highest-profile nonconference games (USC-Texas and Ohio State-TCU) will both start at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 on different networks. Speaking in Tulsa, OU football coach Lincoln Riley told reporters he had called AD Joe Castiglione to vent. "I don't agree with it, but we're not only ones making the call on it," Riley said, according to online reports. "There needs to be some equity. You don't need to have a string of [early starts]."
