because we feared another Kolb int or that our defense could stop them as usual when needed ;)

Not that it would have made a difference, we were down two TD, but it just shows the mental level of this staff.

Actually if the ball had not have been kicked as far, it would have been a live ball. It seemed the kick return players were pulled up further because of the onside kick. I thought it could have turned into a great play if this was the intention and the kicker executed the kick properly. It could have resulted into an easy TD.

It was a good call.

Had the steelers got the ball, they wouldve gotten into FG range and put the game further out of reach.

Had our defense done their jobs and stopped the Steelers after the kickoff, we wouldve gotten the punt and had a shorter field.

This falls on the defenses inability to stop Pitt, not the call

Huh????? We were already two TD down with close to 3 min remaining??? The game was already out of reach. And you expect this pathetic defense to get you the ball back by a three and out???? Are you drunk or smoking something?

Good call... my ass

A two point conversion attempt ends by throwing the ball away... and is followed by a fake onside kick while trailing by 2 possessions with 4 minutes left.

One of the dumbest 2 play sequences ive ever seen.

Uh WHAT? Down two TDs the game is out of reach! Furthermore if you just kick the PAT you are down a TD and a FG but Whiz can't add. Smh

2 TDs with 3 minutes left is doable if your a competent FB team.

3 scores is pushing impossible.

For the same reason they line up in the shotgun from their 5 yard line on first down...the coaching sucks and play calling is laughable.

and you think this team is competent team?

You think wed have any better shot at getting an onside kick back, one of the more difficult plays in the NFL.

Not competent, but when picking our poison, we have a better chance at stopping the Steelers, heck maybe getting a fumble.

I tried to explain why the Cardinals would fake an onside kick in my previous post. The return players were pulled up because of the fake. If the kicker could have just kicked the ball over their heads and not out of the endzone the Cardinals player would have had a chance to pick up a live ball and possibly score a TD.

Maybe in the case the ball doesnt get out of the back of the endzone theres a less likelyhood theyd be able to run it back since they are in onside kick formation

Not really... the kicker kicked it with full power past the end zone. He wasn't even attempting a short kick... sorry, nice try.

Well then, maybe I should be calling the plays because this would have been an excellent idea the way everyone was pulled up for an onside kick. ;)

I'm still not sure the kicker did not fail to execute.

because we threw in the white towel.

Exactly Whiz was afraid they'd get the onside kick and score on a short field and he figured incorrectly we'd stop them if they started at the 20.

Onside kick is the ONLY call in that situation if the Head Coach is truly trying to WIN THE GAME!!!!

The Head Coach was delusional if he actually believed the defense could stop them and his offense could score 2 TDs in that last few minutes.

Inept coaching and even worse inept ownership/management continues in the desert. That 2 year run of wins with Warner was great. Might be the last in my lifetime.

I believe that trying to understand decisions for this team has become as painful as watching the games
