Leelee Sobieski and Ellen Burstyn are joining Nicolas Cage in Neil LaBute's independent The Wicker Man, produced by Millenium Films, Equity Pictures and Emmett/Furla Films.

The Hollywood Reporter says the remake of the 1973 British horror film centers on a police officer (Cage) who is investigating the disappearance of a girl in a small cultlike community.

Sobieski plays a barmaid who is Cage's confidant. Burstyn plays the head of the cult. The film is shooting in Vancouver.

This is a positively abysmal movie, one of the worst I have ever seen. It's pointless, unbelievable and utterly maddening. If you insist on wasting your money, just send it to me.... You'll be happier that you didn't subject yourself to this horror of a movie.

I just watched it, however I should have taken the advice above. This was flat-out awful.
