I need to get an SD card for my Wii. Do any of you know if you can use any brand or type? Or do I have to buy and use the ones at the store that say they are for a Wii.

Any SD card will work. I may have an extra 1GB laying around.

Ultimatum is probably the best of the 3. 1 and 3 are close to me.

I think we agree on number 2.

On topic, I have seen Wii a few times at parties and such. Never really looked like fun to me.

it's more fun than it looks.

I played Contra 3 on it the other day.

Thanks bro. Sold. Lemme know!

Ok, I'll take a look. It should be around with the rest of my gear. I'll let you know tonight. I think it is an official "Wii" SD card too. It came with my Wii.

Well, you have to actually grab the controllers and play the games, just looking at the Wii isn't much fun to anyone really? :D

The wii is awesome. I wish I had gotten one originally instead of the PS3. I had more fun playing tennis for 15 minutes than I had total playing GTA on the PS3.

i usually play seated on the couch for most games - even things like tennis and baseball you don't need to really be moving for

My family has cooled a bit on the Wii. After the novelty wears off of "interactivity" the games get repetitive. Aside from the Nintendo made games (1st party titles) there are very few great 3rd party titles for the Wii.

I have tried to play some of the games that hit all 3 consoles to see if I like the Wii version. Almost in every single case I liked the Wii version the least. Nobody but Nintendo seems to have a handle on the Wii control scheme. Most of the games not made by Nintendo have a horrid implementation of the control scheme using the Wii remote.

So for the most part, we have stuck to playing the party type games and simpler games like Wii Sports, Wii play, Wii Carnival and those types of games. The rest of the games we will continue to buy on the 360.

i think some of the sports titles translate pretty well - although graphics can leave a bit to be desired - haven't played too many other 3rd party titles though

i find it hard to find time to play video games at all - but am still enjoying the wii

So I just bought a new wii with an extra controller for $175 on craigslist. It is what it is. As expected the wife loves it and I'm sure the kid will love the games like Go Diego Go. At least the room doesn't empty when it gets turned on like when I fire up FIFA 08. Graphics are gamecube at best, the channels....whatevs. I just played Wii baseball with the 3 year old, almost 4, and she loved it so it is serving its purpose.

So, I sold my 360 and all of it's gear, because I couldn't get the wife to play anything with me. I had intended to buy a Wii someday, since the wife wanted something more family friendly...having 2 kids now, it doesn't bother me at all...I was tired of playing games alone anyway. Well, we bought a new Nissan Quest last Friday and the DVD system we chose came with a free Wii...pretty cool. I haven't set it up yet...just looking for the time. I was wondering, though, what some essential accessories might be needed. We got the Wii sports package, so it comes with 1 remote and 1 nunchuk controller. Do we need to invest in duplicate remotes or other controllers? What other things are cool to get? I know my wife is interested in the Wii Fit thing.

I would say an extra wii mote and nunchuck is essential. I haven't used it enough to see if i need more memory or anything. i do get what you say about the family friendly thing and not wanting to play alone. I bought Rockband thinking the wife would play and no dice. Looks like the wii is a hit with the fam so the purchase was worth it. I just bought Disney Princess Journey for the kids LOL but I think I need to pick up Tiger Woods and Mario Kart. What is the BEST game for the thing?

ps: 4 wii-motes, 2 nunchucks, 4 if you got cash to spare. The wireless sensor bar is sweet too. If your straps are no good buy expensive ones, your kids WILL throw them. The rubber phone case type things work great too. Buy Wii-play and get the free wii-mote.

Had my first Wii experience Saturday:

Played Star Wars Unleashed. Lost badly to the third grader. Barely beat the four year old. I think he does a "weeny dance" if he wins.

Game looked a lot like Quake. Fighting and stuff is pretty cool.

Would need a long time to get used to the buttons et al.
