WELDON SPRING, Mo. – At just nine years old, Wildwood’s Josh Hooper has already traveled all around the country playing golf.

Playing a list of incredible golf courses filled with a lifetimes worth of memories before 10. But if you ask Hooper his favorite moment, it won’t take long for him to answer.

The biggest moment in his short career came on April 6 at the 2025 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

His favorite moment? “Getting to put on the 18th green,” he said. “I got to drive on the members only range and I got to chip where the pros chip. I also got to meet Adam Scott.”

Meeting one of the world’s best golfers came after Josh won the age 7-9 championship. It came down to the putting portion, where Hooper ended up closer to the hole then his competitor.

Could the Cincinnati Bengals relocate to St. Louis?

“It was a moment, I’ll never forget for the rest of my life,” Hooper’s dad said. “The support was awesome! Everyone was going crazy and crying.”

Hooper got his trophy and did what any sensible nine-year-old would do when he got home.

“I drank Dr. Pepper out of it with my buddy,” he said.

The St. Louis Blues noticed Hooper’s accomplishment and gave him and his family tickets to the teams final regular season game of the season.

“We had a blast and we had great seats,” he said. “Hopefully, they can win the Stanley Cup.”

Hooper is already gearing up for the next season of the Drive, Chip and Putt season, which begins soon.
