Aaron Rodgers Watch 2025 continues.
As other free agent quarterbacks landed in new homes over the last month, Rodgers — cut by the New York Jets after two seasons — remains a free agent.
But Rodgers doesn't appear in a hurry to sign with a new team, though all signs are pointing toward the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A week ago, he was meeting with Steelers coaches and front office for several hours. And just this weekend, Rodgers was taking part in a throwing session at UCLA with DK Metcalf, the team's newly acquired wide receiver.
Does that mean he'll be a Pittsburgh Steeler this upcoming season?
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said Monday on "The Pat McAfee Show" that while he believes it's the most likely scenario "getting in the head of Aaron Rodgers and trying to figure out what he's up to is difficult."
Here's the latest on Aaron Rodgers, his future and the throwing session with Metcalf.
Despite not being teammates, Rapoport said Rodgers and Metcalf meeting up in southern California for a workout was not a coincidence.
The throwing session was "planned" and "lengthy," Rapoport said.
"Rodgers has this process," Rapoport said. "I think it's not as fast as many people would like. This is what he needs to make sure it’s right."
Rapoport said the Steelers appear to be Rodgers' only team left for the four-time MVP if he decides to continue playing at age 41.
"It feels like a matter of time," Rapoport said.
While many thought the Green Bay Packers were in the running to acquire Metcalf, the Steelers were the ones that added the two-time Pro Bowl receiver in a trade earlier this month with the Seattle Seahawks.
Will the acquisition of Metcalf entice Rodgers to join the Steelers?
They are already developing a rapport even as he remains unsigned.
The Steelers are in need of a starting quarterback after letting their top quarterbacks last season (Russell Wilson and Justin Fields) walk in free agency.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed at the NFL's Annual League Meeting this week Rodgers' visit to the team's headquarters. And though a deal isn't in place with Rodgers, Tomlin said he's OK with the unknown.
"I’m really comfortable being unsettled," Tomlin said.
Tomlin recognized this time of the year can be "somewhat uncomfortable."
But Tomlin added, "it is a process."
Until then, Aaron Rodgers Watch ticks on.
